Redesign at Longview

Postby Bugslayer » Mon Mar 08, 2010 2:09 pm

A redesign is coming in 2010.....The course caretaker has gotten the okay to do some redesign, and from what I'm to understand T-Pads WILL be included in the redesign. My suggestion is to imprint the signs into the cement pads....just a suggestion to keep them from being stolen knocked down or mowed around

they never let us put signs at Longview because they didn't want to mow around them, so your idea about implementing them into the pads is a good idea. But......maybe they've come around. Milan did.

I would recommend against that idea. If you would decided to further tweek or redesign the course again, the signs on the concrete would be wrong and unable to be altered.

You can always move the concrete if the course were changed.

True....but people even steal the 4x4s that they used to mark the tee boxes, if they will go to those lengths, cutting down a regular sign would be TOO easy. Plus if they do a later redesign they would probably move some of the tee boxes anyway....just a thought

Use a telephone pole and put it 3' above ground with a slight angle at the top where the sign goes concrete it in.
Are you ready for the Challenge?

LOL...in Longview? many of the neighborhood dwellers would chop them down to use in fireplaces or on the BBQ....the exact thing they do with the 4x4s creosote and all. Fire up a chainsaw in that area and NO-ONE will come check it out. A few years ago a couple of low-lifes stole some baskets from Longveiw....dug them out! No-one said a thing although I heard they were recovered. Only thing worse than a thief is a dumb thief!

So in a year when the Rock Island parks dept. is closing their dog park due to lack of funding and cutting funding from the Genesius Guild Theater Foundation, youth baseball and softball and from a summer day camp program ... They are going to spend on disc golf? I find that hard to believe.

Like someone else asked: source?

Source?....your doubts will go away when the concrete is down....and Bradley....you know who this is. Unless Nelson changed his mind this has been on the docket since last year.....was waiting for the new parking lot to be done.

my pleasure.....am supposed to help with Longview also, unless there is a change that I am unaware of (which could very easily happen) I'm not "in the loop" but have been tapped as labor

Lived there for years...all through the 80s and 90s. It isn't even close to what it used to be.....way mellow anymore. Hardly any fun whatsoever. Is this Joe?
