Winter Disc'n @ Wildcat

Winter Disc'n @ Wildcat

Postby Crager » Wed Jan 13, 2010 1:14 pm

There has been quite a few of rounds already played at Wildcat this year .
( 6 for me )
Steve has Thursday the 14th off and I can be down there by 2:30 or so. We played last night until dark which is right around 5:25 or so.
The Wildcat Crew is usually there every Sat. - Sun starting at 9 unless it is below zero like last Sunday ( we started @ 10 ) LOL
I can be out there almost any day of the week if anyone wants to play a round at a course that hardly has any wind and is fairly easy walking on our trails, just leave a post on here and we can hook up.

I'll be there Saturday, but Sunday is out of the question; Game time is 11:00. Unless we start at 7:30 AM.

We'll see.
You better be rooting for them and hope they win, Chase will give us $20.00 to put into the course if they do.

I'm planning on playing a round Thursday sometime.

I was wondering, is everyone still wearing blaze orange when playing? I'm not sure of the deer seasons and how long they last, I just wondered if I would need to get a vest before going out.
Force, Wraith, Teebird, Pig, Buzzz, Cobra, Challenger...This week at least.

I do. It's not required but the crew has encountered a few people with guns recently. Anything bright will do.

Got 9 holes in yesterday, had a blast, but still had a lot of trouble finding discs that should have been easy to find.

The popular landing zones on every hole seem to be the worst place to throw since all of the footprints are right there.

Lost an MRV on 6 and a DX Teebird on 5 with my name on them, I'm not super attached to them but would take them back if found.

The course is still beautiful with the snow, and I'm not discouraged from coming back.

We will look for them this weekend ,at the rate the snow is melting all the disc's that are out there should be showing themselves by Sunday.
Glad you enjoyed the course, the four of us that were there later had a good time even though Tim P. kicked our butts playng "Driver".

Played front nine tonight. I never thought I would find a flypad I liked. Then I decided to play A,B, & C. Freakin nice job guys.

Schirm I didn't see any extra discs. But I didn't read this till I got home. What colors were they?

As far as I am concerned there is no better golf right now than wildcat. Is everything in the shorts?

All but #4, #6, #9, #14 & #17 are in the A position. Those are in the B position.

The A,B,C pads have been modified since the tourney when I put down the rubber mats. They were just too slick when they got wet and/or cold so I screwed into them a belt called roughtop. It's the same type of belt we put on the bridge to #1 pad. This stuff stays grippy in any condition and I'm thinking they may be permanent too. This is also the belt they use at amusement parks for the log rides. It's on the conveyor that pulls the "logs" up before the first big "plunge".

Edit - The B pad has roughtop belt while the A & C pads have a chevron/herringbone rubber pattern just to clarify if there were questions.

Yellow DX Teebird on 5 and a Blue MRV on 6.

I'm planning on being out there again around midday Sunday.
I agree though, the course is playing great.
I hope to have a little less frustrating time locating my discs, but that wont stop me.
