Flood '09

Postby Schirm » Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:42 am

Went past legion today and #1 is completely under water. Not sure how bad it is in the back, but I'd imagine it's not too good.

And still raining!!
Force, Wraith, Teebird, Pig, Buzzz, Cobra, Challenger...This week at least.

11.2" of rain dumped out of my rain gauge the last two days
The streets in my SW CR neighborhood were a raging river yesterday roughly two feet deep.
A car actually drove up the sidewalk outside my house
My basement only had 4" of water, not anything comparable to last years flood but still brought back horrible memories.

I just talked with the city and they will be pulling the entire course for a couple of weeks while they rebuild the trail and park. The maintanence guy said there was lots more debri this time, compared to last year's flood. This is for safety reasons due to the large number of heavy equipment vehicles they will be using. I am sure we also lost the tee signs for 15, 16, 17 and 1 again. So if anyone sees them floating or up on the bank please let me know and I will move them back up front to install later.

Just looking from the road the park looks wasted again.
