What other thread is that? I heard the park is almost ready to open. Maybe you could call the guy you talked to.

Have you been up there?
Unless the grass was planted and is some type of super growth future-rye there will be only mud puddles to play in.
If they are to open, it must be a small playground area or something because they had way more work to get done in a small time span.
I'll check it out.

I talked to John yesterday and he stated the park is closed and will not open until next spring.
I asked if I could walk around to get a feel and he said I could get arrested  for trespassing and didn't recommended it.
He said he wanted to get nine holes in first, with the baskets they have now, on the land on top(north) and to the west and then put another nine in on the lower land(south) once it gets developed.
We discussed having the nines split at a parking lot making the front or the back accessible to start on which I think is the way to go nowadays.
In the meantime, I can do some scoping from the road to get an idea what I've got to work with.

They've got big plans to have ballfields, soccer fields, skateboard park, etc.
I'm not sure where all this is going to be located, it might be tough to not interfere with all of it.

I drove by yesterday. I don't foresee how 18 will ever fit. Unless they have it in their master plan what will most likely happen is a course that won't work well. We'd be best served by helping them figure that part out. Hopefully it won't end up like others that take a back seat to all the other stuff in the park.

Here's a link to the parks web site. I see no room left for a course that won't totally interfere with all the other things they are installing.

I hear ya, time will tell.
I would rather have a nicely designed short course then to have a poorly designed course that no one will want to play.
Besides, they have nine baskets and are going to do it with or without my help.

Hopefully there is more room on the edges then appears by the layout.
That damn trail is going to be a problem.
There might be some room for holes in the woods on the edges though.

He asked me how long the holes usually are and I told him 200' - 300' on average depending on the park space but that two pin placements on each hole would create a better mix for different levels of players.
It really depends on the land you have to work with.
He didn't really have much to say. He probably was thinking, ya right like we have the space for that!

If they decide not to put this course back in, I think we have to see if they want to sell the baskets. I can think of something we could use a few for.

What, did you save up enough money for land for your own course?
