I played this course for the first time today, and had not seen info anywhere (beyond the PDGA description) so I thought I'd post something here in case there's interest.
The Waterloo Exchange Park course is 27 holes in a well-established park along the Cedar River. Mostly open city park, mature trees. Nice signs. Despite the lack of elevation the course has quite a few interesting holes.
#3 is 784 feet, with the approach shot across a large pond. This reminded me of Indian Hills in Ottumwa except here you don't get to the pond until the last 200 ft before the pin. Must think about how to place your fairway drive for a reasonable approach shot!
#10-17 play on and around a wooded peninsula that looks like it is an island when the river's high. A couple of skip ace opportunities through narrow wooded fairways. #13 is an elevated tee shot into the woods. #14 has the pin planted in the top of a big boulder pile...cool.
#18 has the pin hidden behind a Huge tree trunk, test your hyzer.
Many of the other holes are kind of like Eastern in Davenport, except with bigger trees. A lot of holes in the 320-420' range. Not a lot of variety in #19-27 but it's always nice to have more than 18 holes in the same park!
