In your own opinion, what do you think is the best 18 hole course within a 30 minute drive of Des Moines? And then post why?

Pickard.

It's got most everything I'm looking for in a course. It's got plenty of elevation and obstacles to deal with. There are more par 4's and 5's available, which makes it an actual *golf* course. It's virtually devoid of conflicts with other park uses. Holes aren't on top of each other. It flows logically through the park.

Then, of course, there's Juliana's butt.

I chose Pickard as well. The reason why I like Pickard is just like Kenton said...it has actual par 4's & 5's. I like playing holes that have a full two shots to them...or in some cases...a full three or four shots :D

I remember watching Julianna's butt, I mean watching her practicing her putt out there years ago.

I voted for Walnut. I really like Pickard, and the "true golf" that it offers, but I'm somewhat partial to Walnut, being a lefty. I think Walnut is just a little more fun to play. It seems like every time I play there, I deuce or bogey different holes. Maybe that'll change if I ever get consistent.

this is a false survey...because no des moines course should be on there...
because they are in des moines...not you dont drive approximately a half hour to get there... pickard counts just because indianola isnt really a suburb of des moines...even though its close
The real excitement is playing the game.

Well...then techincally speaking, we would only lose Grandview, Ewing and Waterworks. And really, the only loss there would be Grandview.

Because the rest are scattered out to Johnston, Polk City, Ames, Newton and Indianola.

Just pretend the poll says, "Best course within 30 miles of Des Moines City Hall."
