revamping

Postby AO » Wed Dec 06, 2006 6:31 pm

If I checked out some things with the city they would not allow the park to be worked on? The course looks great now it just seems like there is so much good land that is not being utilized for disc golf.

There really isn't that much more land available. Only the little section to the east and the hill to the west. Some of these areas are pretty steep and if you put holes or increased the traffic you may cause further erosion. If you have time give me a call and I can give you the names of the contacts with the city. You will end up having to go through one of two people and there in lies the problem. Everything funnels through two people.
I agree with the revamping part, just because I like to play a variety of new holes but besides you and a couple of other players will a lot of people actually want change at this course.
Remember Jones gets so many people out there, not because its a nice and challenging course but because people don't lose discs and they can get a quick round in with minimal effort.
Hiawatha may take some of the strain off of Jones because initially it too will be fairly open and beginner friendly.
Hopefully I will get to change a couple of holes on Legion this spring and get all the signs fixed.
I have to leave for bowling now. Talk at you later.
Man of many habits.

What about the land that is to the right of 7 and 8. Can we use it, or has the city put an axe on that idea? I will take those numbers. please PM them to me and I will make an attempt. I have heard some negative things about the city and disc golf but maybe I can try a new approach. Also, if you would like some help at Legion I would be glad to help.

Played Shaver yesterday and noticed some basket location changes.
(#9 - #12 - #15)
I wish I would have known this before I threw

I'm not sure who moved the baskets (Frog - Btchn - Adam?)
Whoever though, let me know if you want some ideas; I have a few.

I didn't move any baskets. I've been on the road Thursday-Sunday the last 3 weekends and haven't even had any time for casual rounds. I am trying to get all this work stuff done before I head out on the road for 2 months. You may want to speak with Frog.

I checked out the new placements the other day. 9 is sweet and def. more fair, 12 is kinda ghey-maybe make an inside anhyzer route, and 15's new spot is fun.

The tree on 14 is down. Does any one know when this happened?

I mean 13. The dead tree that was leaning, it kind of looks like it fell then someone cut the rest off with a chainsaw.

That tree fell during bad weather, it was there for a few weeks then got cut up.

I was also wondering what happened to the tree that was cut down opening up the hole shot on 13? Was this done for the tourney?

MORE HOLES, MORE HOLES
