I have no clue about the Impact. I think it is a control driver, a mix between storm and cyclone is what I may have read? Also, if ya want your discs I need your money. The Drones are at my home today and Discraft was nice enough to charge me and not want the money before they sent out the order.

To those getting the Drones, look at them closely and you can see they are sparkle FLX.

Yes, they're super overstable. More so than Pro D's. They seem like they have a little less glide, but they are money. Haven't got to throw one into a headwind yet.

We could have stuffed you in the Cab of my truck. It would have been a little uncomfortable.

wow, Drone is already sold out. Oh well, that's what I get for not being able to order right away :)

From Discraft's website:

FLX Drone Sells Out In Two Days
Newsflash: Feb 19 - The FLX Drone LE midrange has sold out less than two days after its retail release. "We were overwhelmed by the demand," said Discraft spokesman Brian Sullivan. "The Drone is a very overstable, pro caliber midrange, but players are going crazy for it in the new FLX plastic." He noted that factory supplies had been completely sold out within two days of release, but players would still be able to find this disc until retailer supplies were exhausted. A second LE run is anticipated for late 2008.

Wonder if they'll take pre-orders on the second LE :)

As far as the question on the Impact, it's a really straight mid, most amount of glide you'll see in a mid-range is what a lot of people told me. I ran two ace races, and there were a few reports that it was similar to a beat-buzzz and a ton of reports that it had a huge amount of glide to it.

I still have 60+ leftover player packs if anyone is interested (sorry to step on the thread). PM me if interested, don't want to hijack it any more than I already have![/quote]

I've thrown my FLX Drone a few times, haven't really given it a good workout yet, but I'm just kind of curious. It seems to me that a disc that overstable should take a long, slow hyzer route when thrown flat. But when I throw it, it seems to just be straight, not as long as my Z Buzzes, slower, and obviously fades harder.

Is therea specific technique you like to throw w/ your Drones? Spike Hyzers? Hole 1 in Norwalk is short, but theres an anny route, and a really thin line for a hyzer, if you can get it to drop/fade hard enuogh. I threw my shot there long, and it didn't seem to hook hard enough like I thought it would. Is this something you want to keep for a windy day, or is it a specual-use/utility disc & I just haven't figured it out yet?

Also, I throw my mids 174-175, this is a 178. Don't think that would cause me to not throw this right though.

Share your stories about this disc, please...!

There is one line and one line only, the Hyzer line. Just throw a stable to over stable putter up over the roof of the shelter and it will land under the pin. Annny line.........
