Camden II

Camden II

Postby Lou Siffer » Wed Sep 05, 2007 9:46 am

Just wanted to let you all know that $20,000 for the second course at Camden Park was unanimously approved by the Village of Milan at their Council meeting last night!

Club members and advocates present at the meeting were Chad Eng, K. C. Randall, Paul Roesner, Paul's dad (Bill?), Brad Ellis, Reed McDaniel, and myself.

Much of the credit for getting the project approved needs to go to Milan's Economic Development Director, Annette Ernst, who really went to bat for the disc golf community.

Big thanks also needs to go out to the Roesners and Reed for being disc golf's link to the Village of Milan, and for keeping this project alive. Thanks, you guys!

Here's a link to Milan's contact page with Annette's contact cued up. There's a pulldown menu to the right that has contacts for those that voted to approve the funding. Those include the mayor, and the six trustees at the bottom of the menu. If you have a minute, drop them a line and say thanks.

Make sure you thank Paul, Paul's dad, and Reed when you see them!

I'd also like to personally thank Paul & crew and Reed & sons for all they do. This area wouldn't be the same without them.

Please, anyone that can make the time, send Annette a letter of thanks. She was instrumental in getting this approved for us, and I believe without her this would not have happened. Also if and when you see Reed and RJ please give them a big pat on the back, they have put a lot of time into planning, phone calls, and rubbing elbows with the city folks. Milan is very excited about the new course, women’s nationals, and disc golf in general.

Thanks to everyone that stayed positive throughout the negotiations and lent their support, Camden II is no longer a mythical course that might happen someday, Milan will now have the QC's only 36 hole disc golf park!!!

If you missed it, KWQC did a small piece on the new course a few nights ago. Check out the club web site for the video clip.

And then let's discuss ...

A solid, accurate report. Don't see many of those.
