Who's Played here?

Postby SpikeHyzer » Sun Sep 24, 2006 2:16 pm

Just wondering who has played this course? And wondering what your thoughts are on it? I am trying to make some improvements out there and would like some feedback on what you liked or disliked about the course.

Thanks

played there a couple times, it's a nice course. Too bad WDM won't let us add more holes.

I was thinking, since we can't add any more holes out there, maybe we could add alternate pin placements. WDM probably has something against that though, like they don't want us to disrupt their sacred grass. :x

There *are* alternate pins on some of the holes. If I remember correctly, 5, 6, 8 and 9 have them. RodneyG should know if there are any more.

#5 is about 20-30' longer
#6 is just over the ditch and tucked into the trees on the right (now overgrown in tall grass
#8 is pin-high to the right of the existing pin
#9 is short and right, about 25' from the trees.

I don't think hole 5 does...but I think you are right on the others. The unfortunate part is that the pins have either all been damaged or ripped out of the ground by the park people when they were doing the replanting of the grass.

I might as well let the cat out of the bag...

I have received approval from the WDM Park & Rec's to put in alt. pins on each hole if it will allow for it. So, holes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 will get alt. pins. 2 and 7 might be a bit tough to find an alt. pin for them.

Cat's out of the bag.

Joe, I look forward to going over the layout Friday. Unfrotunatley for me I will be moving to Johnston the end of October. I will remain a west sider at heart though, and look forward to helping Southwoods in any way possible.

I've lost 2 discs at walnut compared to about 20 at Southwoods. Big Creek I have never lost one in about 5-6 times playing. I think my discs will be ok. :D
