Postby Birdman » Wed Jul 25, 2007 2:55 pm

as i was playing today i saw the isu ground crew working on putting alternate pin locations on multiple holes.

which brings me to the question of will we be playing to the long new baskets for league on tues.

so the some of the changes on the course are good here are the changes so far:

hole 2: pin not moved yet but lock is in the ground in bushes on right side
hole 4: tucked tighter in on right side
hole 5: anhyzer shot now (hole is to easy from short pad)
hole 7: short is the same long is tucked back and to the left
hole 8: short is once again to easy, and long is on far side of path
hole 11: lock is in ground back and to the right
hole 12: long basket gone only short in same old position
hole 13: short is basically same distance but easier since it's no longer an anhyzer, long is a b*tch cuz they need to clear more stuff out...look out if your teeing of on the 17 pro pad tho
hole 15 saw anchor back by path to pro pad

Note: When you discover something like this, keep it to yourself or let Kenton know. Some punk D-Bag will read this and own a new Basket. Just some 411 for ya.

I'll add that it makes you stupid when you do something like that and then make 2 other posts where you call people stupid.

Im not to worried about the long location since most people dont relize it's there till they are at 17's pro pad. as for getting pulled i don't see it happening either...last summer 18's basket was unlocked and it didn't phase people...having multiple baskets up most college students play to the shorts.

isu long course

Postby Disclover » Thu Aug 09, 2007 4:45 am

The new pin placements , for the most part , are sweet. Some of the younger people in my group complain because it raises their scores. I see it as an opportunity to play more free disc golf. The longer tee positions force you to use course management, disc selection and a greater variety of shots. Now if ISU can keep the fareway's mowed for my roller shots i will be one happy disc dude. thank you.

the new pins rocked me tonight. i just got back into ames and thought that it would be a great day to improve my "long to long" score. well that was a bad idea. this will take some getting used to, but most of them seemed prety well placed.
go big or go home!!!

Played here the other day and not sure if i like the "new" pin locations or not. It seemed every hole was an extreme/unnecessary anny. I did like #7's new location, maybe because i birdied it, maybe because it wasnt an anny. Interesting mow job out there as well on 18, not sure if the mower was drunk or trying to spell something out in the grass.
I speak my mind, cuz bitin' my tongue hurts
