Course Design ?

Postby Danno » Mon Jul 23, 2007 10:14 am

I had a conversation with a guy this weekend about the course in Norwalk. He was telling me how much he enjoyed playing the course, and how well they used the amount of space they where given.

Then he said he had a chance to meet the guy who designed the course, and that he did a great job of laying it out. I figured he was speaking of Gary, or my brother Jeremy, I was wrong. He said it was Jason that works at Scheels, ghstnshell.

Dude, please tell me you are not taking credit for all of the planning and hard work that Gary and Jeremy did. If you are, that is one of the lowest things you could do.

There are many people who had a hand in the planning and input of this course, and they all deserve a little credit, but Gary and Jeremy are the two guys that gave up alot of time and energy to see this course through to the end.

So please, if you are taking credit for the design and input of this course please stop, and give credit where credit is due.

Hey Danno, why don't you read some of the other forums about this course before you go badmouthing somebody on here. Jason's always held the work that Gary and your bro did in the highest regard, along with many others.

Or maybe you could've send Jason a PM and given him a chance to clear up your lack of knowledge instead of this retardedness. :o

GDL,
I thought my post was stated pretty mild compared to some of your famous posts.

I do not believe some random guy is going to make up a story that Jason is taking credit for more then he should.

I want to know what the Chuck is going on w/ that? Whenever I tell someone about the course (which I try to pimp a LOT of West DM'ers), I say "a few friends & I" (again quote me) "designed, fund raised, proposed and installed the course". That's my canned response, period.

What, do you assume that I'm some weasel? F*(ck that guys, that's all I have to say. When I say "a few friends & I", I embody Gary, Jeremy, You, Your dad, Matt, and even Lucas I suppose.

That's bullshit  ...and I'm f*(cking pissed.

Did it ever dawn on your thick skull that the random guy was misinformed about who designed the course? Just like you are misinformed that Jason is taking all credit.

ever played that game in school where you whisper something to one person, and by the time it gets through a few other people, the story has changed.....totally? I can't remember what that effect is called....oh, yeah, people don't always pay the closest attention. something like that.

BIRDS OF A FEATHER, FLOCK TOGETHER

Sounds like we have some pigeons flying around here

My statement was not ment to be a personal attack on Jason, I just want the people who deserve the credit to get it. I feel I was very diplomatic about how I stated it, and just asked if he was doing this to please stop.

I feel if anyone took offense to what I posted, oh well. I have seen some visious attacks on here, that put my statements to shame.

Let's just put it this way: Tact

Through the experience of doing the course, helping, and both of us being good contributors, I wold normally have considered you a friend - one who wouldn't think me capable of saying exactly that. If someone thought I said that, then I'm sorry, but I did not, and have not. As a friend, I would have thought that you would have emailed, PM'd, or even called me to check instead of calling me out in a public forum for something that I simply did not do.

Maybe we didn't work together enough for you to get that kind of understanding of me. If so, then oh well. But just as you were insulted by that news, you have further spread that insult to places where it didn't need to go, when you should have handled it in a more mature manner.

Had someone like Lucas claimed he dd the whole damned course, I would have simply corrected the grapevine (in business I know ALL about squashing gravevines) by having the Tact to say "while person X wasn't the only one, they sure lent a hand with construction & have been a success story of a kid who is coming out of his shell through disc golf", or something relative to person X. I also would have said that I doubted that they would have said something like that.

Thanks for embarrassing me & stabbing me in the back, as I did no such thing to anyone else... I appreciate it.

*edit*

I AM proud of my work, and equally as much as the "team" who worked together to pull off what others in the area viewed as a miracle.

hmmmm, Danno, guess J-Dub's response is vicious (learn to spell, if you're gonna use "big" words) also, being that his suggestion mirrored mine, lmao.

It didn't matter how "nicely" you said what you said, the fact that you're calling him out on a public forum basically says to everyone, "I don't have the balls to say anything to J-Dub, so I'll drag his name through the mud on a public forum. You're my hero.
