2007 Coulter Fun Day Classic - June 30, 2007

Postby Peil » Thu Jun 07, 2007 1:43 pm

Coulter will once again be hosting a disc golf tournament in conjunction with its annual Fun Day celebration. This year we are trying a singles tournament instead of the random doubles tournaments we have run the past two years. Sorry about the late notice and the tournament landing on the same day as the Osky Challenge. Serious players should head to Osky. This will be a fun, non-sanctioned event for mostly local players.

I'm gonna try and make it, rob. i'll also clear out july 14 for thorton.

I mentioned it at league saturday and everyone was like "what's coulter?" no one had a clue what or where coulter was. hehe

it didn't seem like anyone was interested. i'll keep on plugging it though.

i got to play firebird friday. btw. . . what were you thinking on holes 4-9!! insane. . .

congrats on all the aces! i'm assuming the tee post signatures are the aces- nice idea.

Thanks for plugging the tournament at league. We were up in Mason on Saturday but unfortunately it wasn't in time for me to play league. I'm not sure what kind of turnout we will have for the tournament but as you've seen the course can't really handle a large number of players anyway.

We were thinking, "we don't have very much room here but we do have all these big, dead trees." Hope you enjoyed yourself on The Firebird.

The names on the tee posts are for aces. I've had three out there but it's been about a year since my last one. Hopefully I'm due.

Since this is on Coulter Fun Day, there are baseball games in the morning at the park and then the firemen are having a dinner at the park around noon. The course should be open for practice after that though. It looks like it's going to be a great day. Hope to see a few out there.

Thanks for making it to the tournament Josh. I'm glad you won the Star Rhyno and hope you put it too good use.

PS. I hear that you gave Ryan a few of your discs. Very cool move. It was great meeting you and having you at the tournament and come back anytime.

Thanks for coming down for the tourney Dave. It was great having you in my group as well as playing a couple of rounds with you in Thornton. Also thanks for helping spread the word about the tournaments at the Mason City Random Doubles League.

Out of curiousity I did a breakdown of the scores to see what each hole averaged for the tournament.

Hole 1 - 2.54
Hole 2 - 3
Hole 3 - 3.54
Hole 4 - 3.58
Hole 5 - 2.79
Hole 6 - 2.83
Hole 7 - 3
Hole 8 - 3.25
Hole 9 - 3.33
