elevator shot

Postby Birdman » Tue May 08, 2007 10:50 pm

i just watched a discraft video. and the video talked about an elevator shot. the video didn't give any tips to how to throw this shot. I was wondering if anybody had any pointers for throwing the shot.

I find that discs with the wide lip (Wraith, Surge, Orc, etc) tend to lift higher. Slight nose up will lift it, too (obviously). I know these probably aren't the answers you're looking for, just chiming in.

Nose-up will fade back everytime. But for the wide lippers, its totally dependent on the amount of snap and the disc. Usually if it gets a good lift its gonna fade back on the drop.

I only try and answer this b/c it was directed at me, by no means do I know what the hell I'm talking about 8)

take an understable putter and throw it nose up with a slight anhyzer high in the air, and it should float straight down if thrown correctly.

Is an elevator shot the same as a helicopter shot? Can someone get Uncle "Helicopter" Hunkel to respond so we'll know for sure?

I was also messing around with this shot during my lunch break and made a couple from 50-60 ft. It's also not windy today. Not sure how it will work in the wind.
