Postby RonRazz » Sun Apr 29, 2007 5:57 pm

In what is really the big part of getting Eastern av. park ready for the Rumble I am going to put a doubles event. This event so more so to deal with the biggest problem there, the litter on the course.

May 2nd 5:30pm
Format

Random draw best shot
$5 entry includes
$1 Ace fund(which probably wont happen)
$1 Most Garbage Collected(ace fund rolls into this if none made)
Plus MGC winner gets a 6 pack of Fat Tire I have.
Payout based on number of players

Good thinking, Ron. Let me know what I can do to help you out.

Show up or tell as many others to show up, thats about it. haha

I'm gonna go trim the long tee again tomorrow night after my evening class. The grass is really growing fast out there. Hopefully I can get someone that knows there the long tee on 13 should be to show up a little earlier to stick it in the ground before the doubles.

Besides that I'll bring some trash bags, score cards and change to avoid payout problems.

Hey Ron, You did a great job of organizing and following through on this thing.

Had a lot of fun cleaning up and playing the long tees with Jon Scott, Jarrod, and Caleb.

Although, Caleb was carrying two tires plus two bags of trash and, I had two bags of trash and a big wire spoked hub cap through the whole back nine. Needless to say, we were moving a little slow. We didn't even finish because of the dark.

This is a really good example of what can be done with just a little effort and some initiative.

A big THANKS to Ron and everyone else that showed up and helped out.

Chase, Dan, Alex, K.C., Ron, Caleb, Jarrod, Jon, Adam?, Fat Boss, and one guy I didn't know.

Great job, guys! So proud of y'all! Sorry I couldn't be there, I have softball practice on Wed. Did anyone get any pictures? Something like that is great publicity--disc golfers caring enough to play and to take care of their courses. We could even post those kind of pictures on the web-site. I love it!!

I, too, was rather impressed with last night's activity. I came in with a large garbage bag full, containing the contents of three of the smaller sized bags that were distributed and a little extra, as well as a large lid to a stray garbage bin....and I was VERY pleasantly suprised that my effort was mediocre!!! What a great feeling.

I had a terrible round, I threw like crap, I had scraps of garbage all over myself, I was wet from dumping the contents of a plastic sack onto my foot...and yet I came back happy with the result. Odd.

Well done, Ron, and huge props to all that helped. Thank you!

Everything was picked up at eastern this morning before I even had a chance to call the parks people. Did some one beat me to it?

Like Kc I was really suprised at the turn out, which was great. Thank to everyone for showing up.

nice work fellas. I'd call 'em anyways, just act like you didn't know it had already been collected. At least then they'll know whodunnit. Every "attaboy" counts.
