I know, and have had, TG at both Zombie Burger and El Bait Shop. I'm 99% positive both the Library and the Keg Stand also have some on tap, but have no consumable proof. I too am not much of a bar goer anymore.

p.s. This is so confusing having this thread here.

Me and the wife and daughters went on a little brewery crawl on Sunday. Having a 7yo and 10yo in tow, we like to hit the breweries when they open so the Cool Crowd doesn't have to be too annoyed.

Started at OMB at Noon with their Bauren Bock (a doppelbock). It was delicious, and I didn't think nearly as sweet as many commercial doppels I've had. Also had a bigass pretzel and a bratwurst.

Next up was NoDa at 1pm. I had the Drop Dead Gordgeous, an imperial version of their Gordgeous pumpkin ale. It was fantastic for a pumpkin ale, if you're into such things.

Finally hit Birdsong at 2pm. I got the Mexicali Stout -- a stout with peppers. Another great beer.

Got a growler of NoDa's Cold Crash winter ale for MNF drinking.

We had a running game of UNO across all 3 breweries. I think Gracie won.

A good time was had by all.

In other news, Triple C is releasing their Bourbon Barrel Aged "Up All Night" Breakfast Porter this weekend. The original Up All Night was a pretty huge hit last winter, coming in at 10% ABV but really smooth without much burn. They saved some back and it's been in the bourbon barrels since then. I'm pretty excited about it, and hope I can get some.

Won't someone come to Charlotte and help me drink all this delicious local beer?

Brew pubs are popping up all over the place.

Big Grove in Solon is up and running.

Lion Bridge in the Czech Village(Cedar Rapids) is on it's way and should open within the year.

White Elephant Brew pub in New Bohemia District(Cedar Rapids) is being built as well. So cool to have these options and see Cedar Rapids evolve. I'm going to say the flood of 2008 was great for this city. Brought in federal money, cleared out the garbage and provided new businesses and more product for the customer. Downtown has exploded and there is so many more things to do.

Technically Confluence is available at numerous Hy-Vees, in half-growlers. While its great they're getting their product out there, I'm not a fan of growlers not directly from the brewery because of the short shelf life. I'll be a little more excited once I see their product in cans sometime in future.

is it pretty easy to get cans in Iowa?

I live by what is literally the Biggest Liquor Store in America. DaveCo. I always have a hard time finding something that isn't swill in a can (unless it's Oskar Blues at $9.99 a sixer).

Recently I've been buying Warsteiner cans because I like the german purity laws and non GMO ingredients.. Discontinued... WTF! I refuse to drink beer out of shitty brown bottles that;

my dog knocks over,
skunk the flavor,
disallow me from taking to the river or hiking,
Turn minor "dropping" incidents into complete disasters
Cost more

the list goes on...

I'm just wondering if this is one of those fucking weird Colorado things... Seriously a Chucking wal-mart sized liquor store with nothing but bottled beer EVERYWHERE. I hate it.

Yeah they only had half-growlers there, chose not to get any. Lady behind the counter said they hadnt sold a single one yet soley on the half-growler "idea."
