That is pretty cool that cgkdisc is coming. Chuck Kennedy is a PDGA Hall of Famer and is the person who developed the PDGA Player Rating System. He is also a top flight course designer and he helped design one of the 3 courses at the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, GA. If you appreciate the Player Rating System, and I know most disc golfers do, thank Chuck for his hard work. If you think your Player Rating should be higher, and I know most disc golfers do, try to be nice to Chuck anyway. Both courses were mowed this week and are in great shape. Lots of interest- I have received lots of calls and texts. The Custom Hotstamp turned out awesome- Z Zombee Fly Dye, Z Glo Meteors, Z Buzz, Z Buzz SS, Z Nuke SS, ESP Surge, Z Cryztal Challengers, Z Cryztal Nukes, D Challengers, D Soft Magnets. 19 people preregistered so far. Weather forecast looks sweet for Sunday.

Is this capped? I'm thinking of coming but not if I could be turned away due to volume...
I want to get a vending machine with fun sized candy bars...and the glass in front is a magnifying glass. You'll be mad, but it will be too late.

No limit on golfers. We can play both courses at the same time if need be. We could handle 180 but we have had over 90 people only a few times in the previous 29 Fall Classics.

Thanks everybody who played in the 30th Ottumwa Fall Classic/36th Iowa State Championships. Great turnout (65 people) for the day after 2 tourneys on Saturday.
Congrats to Ryan Anderson from Ottumwa who won his first Open Division title at a PDGA Event and became the third Ottumwan to win the Open Division at the State Tournament. Ryan shot a sizzling 50 in the 2nd rd at the 19 hole Memorial Park course, which is a legit Par 58. Matt Frymoyer took the Pro Master title and Chuck Kennedy won
the Pro Grandmaster division as he beat Doug Peyton and Scott Innis in a 3 way playoff for 1st. Greg Dye won the Advanced division and the new Innova Discatcher Sport Basket. Scott Ullrick won the Advanced Master title and his son Logan, a junior in high school, topped the huge field of 27 Intermediate golfers. Kerri Haught from Iowa City won the Advanced Women title. Jace Leanhart from Newton was the lucky winner of the drawing for the Saucer Golf "cone" basket. 192 raffle tickets were sold.

Tom, you going to upload the scores to PDGA so we can see the unofficial ratings? I'll upload them for you if you email the TD report with the scores entered and your TD password. ckennedy at pdga.com

I was wondering about the scoring entered into the pdga scores. It appears the second round is based off of a par 54 even though there were 19 holes which makes par 57.

The 2nd rd was based on 19 hole Par 57. There is a spot on the PDGA report where you list how many holes were played each rd and I clearly marked 19 holes for round 2.
Although Memorial is a much tougher and longer course, the ratings for the 2nd rd are clearly based on 19 Holes and Par 57. Ryan's rating of 1040 was based on him shooting a 7 under par 50, not for him shooting a 4 under par 50.

Doc, I see now what you are talking about re the scores. I had not noticed they showed the Open winner at 8 under par total, when he shot 4 under and then 7 under for what should have been a total of 11 under par. I will check with PDGA and get that corrected. I don't know that the ratings will change much since they are mostly based on how the lowest score of the round compares to the rest of the field's score for that round.

Did you go in the Tournament Manager online and assign all of the divisions in the second round to the Memorial course layout you set up on the Admin page with 19 holes and par 57? Once you do that make sure to click on the Update button after you set the division assignments so it locks in the setting. Forgetting to click the Update button is what I and several TDs sometimes forget to do.
