How does this apply again? I didn't receive points for Atlantic when I played Int but I saw that another Adv player got points for playing in open. Do you only get points when you move up?
Has always been this way as long as I've been apart of the tour

My question is why the rule applies differently to different players. The rule is pretty straight forward.

That rule was put into place, mainly to piss you off...You don't get rewards for playing down.

Jake got points be cause he played the day MA1 played. He did miss out on the 30 bonus points (winning your division) because he did not play in the MA1 division.

If you don't play the day the division you signed up for plays on the two day stops. It does not count. Why should a player who's rating allows him/her to play both days get two chances to get points!

Also I do this because I can't compare your MA2 score on day 1 where the weather may be perfect to the day 2 MA1 scores where it could have down poured and been 50 degrees colder.

Maybe I missed the actual rule on this but I don't understand how this

equals this

One states that only play in your division counts and the other states that only play on the day of your division counts. Which rule is it?

I wasn't questioning why my points don't count as I fully understand and agree with the reasoning. I would have played in my division if scheduling conflicts hadn't prevented it those two weekends but I opted to play rather than sit them out completely.

Eligible = PDGA rating.

Jake's points where based off of his score compared to the MA1 division. If he had signed up for the Pro division in the Tour. He would have received fewer points.

The rule you wrote in the first post states that the player must play in his/her division to receive points

The rule seems to be selectively enforced if you are only going to apply it to certain players and not others. If there is another rule that shows why he would get points could you please show me where it is posted?

It is more than possible I missed someone unintentionally. If I did, please point it out so I can fix it. You saying I am being selective is complete malarky.

Two pro players played both days of the Retro, but only received points for the first day that their division played.

I really don't know how to be more clear about this. Jake played in Open at Atlantic and received points for playing. The rule in the first post says very clearly that you will only receive points if you play in the division you signed up for. I haven't gone through and picked apart everyone else that might have played in a different division and received points, I only saw an example that was pretty easy to spot and pointed it out. I would hope that you are going to enforce the rule across the board and not just for certain players.

If the quote below is not an actual rule than please point me to where the rule is posted that covers playing out of your division. If I am misunderstanding the rule please explain it to me. I don't see where it only applies to players who play on a different day than there division like you responded earlier.

I have not told anyone they have to play any division. Jakes points for Atlantic are based off of MA1 scores. I will not (nor has the tour ever) punish someone for playing up.

Also take a look at the pro masters. One player played adv masters at BHMDGO. His points are based on how he would have done in the pro master division. He still received those points because both the division he played, and the division he signed up for in the tour played that day.

Where is this rule? The only mention of "playing out of division" says no points shall be given but you keep contradicting that. If you meant the rule to be different than you should revise it in your first post. I'm fine with what ever you come up with and it doesn't affect my standings but the rule, as you stated it, is not being enforced equally.
