Jump putt from the tee pad

Postby claring » Thu Aug 08, 2013 8:49 am

Playing Humboldt last weekend and this question surfaced and wanted to get an opinion as to what is correct. For those of you that have played this know what I'm talking about. A few of the holes are very short and down hill so all you need is to putt. Is it legal to jump putt from the tee pad? I've always been under the impression that you had to be in contact with the pad when you teed off.
(OH CRAP I'M QUESTIONING DISC GOLF I MUST BE "WHINING"AND SHOULD LET IT GO)

Well, you would be in contact with the teepad on a legal jump putt, right? No different than releasing then finishing off the front, which I do mainly when there is a puddle of mud. :)

This. There is no diff between jump putting from 40 out vs. the tee pad. Its either a legal putt/shot or it's not. If they're in the air before/during the release for either, it's a foot fault.

Something you'd think a decade long player/Tournament Director would know by know....

Something I'm still not sure everyone understands about jump putts.

it's just hard to call because it happens so quickly, but yes, a legal jump putt from the tee would be legal i'd think.
