Postby Seadog19 » Wed Aug 07, 2013 6:48 pm

Discraft, innova, latitude 64, gateway, other? Everyone prefers their own disc or their own company... What do you guys/gals prefer and why?

Everyone has a mixed bag nowadays. People who only use one manufacturer are either sponsored or a helmet.

I don't prefer one over the other necessarily. But looking at the numbers in my bag, I have the following:
Innova(including DiscMania and Millennium) - 7
Discraft(Including DGA) - 9
Lat64(Including DD and Westside) - 1

So...going by the numbers...it would appear Discraft.

I throw Innova drivers and Discraft mids. I like the Discraft series BuzzzSS, Buzzz, Wasp, Hornet because they all have very similar feel in the grip. Once I got really comfortable with one of them, I can throw them all the same way and get different flight patterns. I think Roc throwers do the same thing with different levels of wear or all the numerous variations on Roc molds. But that seems way too complicated, and difficult to replace when you lose one, so I never tried to learn it.

The fun bags on his avatar have stayed consistent though, thankfully.

Only non innova I throw is Drone, Zone, Meteor, Wizard.

With exception of the wizard the other 3 are utility discs.

I am a believer in the theory that the technology is good enough that its not the disc but the thrower that makes the difference. That being said, I have all Innova drivers, mostly Discraft mids (except a Roc and a Panther), and two Gateway putters (wizard and voodoo). Don't take any of that seriously though -- I kinda suck at this game.

in all seriousness, my bag lineup goes as follows and has for the last year or so:

wizard x3 (one for putting though i throw it too and 2 for strictly throwing)
zone x2 (one seasoned one new)
buzzz x2 (one esp seasoned one newish Z)
meteor x2 (one z and one seasoned esp)
hornet
leopard x2 (one seasoned one stable)
teebird x3 (various degrees of wear)
predator x2 (one seasoned Z one beefy flx)
banshee (flies like a longer zone)
destroyer x2 (one seasoned one new)
wraith x2 (one super beat in one new)
dominator (my "cheater" disc)

so i guess the breakdown is:

gateway: 3
discraft: 9
innova: 11

I guess if I started this forum I should tell all of you! I prefer discraft but I love gateway putters over every disc maker. The supersoft wizard is my go to putter. I mostly drive with the discraft crush and innova groove. My midrange disc is the discraft buzz. For extreamly straight throws I choose my pro wraith, and for a throw where I need an understable disc, I choose the discraft wildcat.
