2013 Pro Worlds, Lemon Lake

Postby AO » Wed Jul 31, 2013 12:25 pm

Heading out Saturday! Can't wait to hang with Clue and Nelson and get some good golf in. Mike you getting a fAntasy league going? Who's your top ten? I go Will, Ricky and McBeth in no particular order. Then followed by either Dave, Thuggy, Cale, Doss and Nikko. Followed by the field.

Tear it up out there fellas! Looking forward to following the action on line. I'd tend to agree with your predicitons. Will, Paul and Ricky seem to be on a slightly different level.

AO weren't you two strokes off top card, finishing 7th in 2010 at those courses? Seems that would put you in the top 10. Must be nice to see your name above many of those on the list.

Now that I've played the courses (definitely had higher expectations given a second Worlds), I think they make it tougher to predict. In the end tho it's about consistency so my pick goes to Ricky Wysocki. Hope it's not Schusterick. Second prediction is McBeth. Climo for masters.

I finally got around to reading about the tournament. I pretty much assumed it was going to be the same thing, but am pleasantly surprised at the slightly new lineup. The Gold course is top notch, and I liked the Blue ok but having 40-50 more ft than in 2010 is going to make a huge difference on that course. No idea how this new White layout is going to play but it certainly looks better on paper than the Red course played. Definitely looking forward to it, but if I'm gonna get lucky the Horseshoe is just 20 minutes up the road!

Nice first round pairing Clue. Going to call Borg on any foot-fault putts?

Gold looks amazing. You can tell the course has really cleaned up. The greens are incredibly nice and the fairways are clean. It is 2 strokes easier than 2010 though. The player's guide says par 64 but I think it's a par 63.

Blue looks about the same and is more open. The course is playing 4ish or so strokes harder than 2010, so no 41 imo. Par 60

White is better than what I was hearing. It is very new and the rough is awful in spots. Lot's of poison ivy and thorns. I feel the shots are mostly fair and there are a couple eagleable short par 4s which I like. You can go for the two buy they can set up for tin cupping if you error on the drive. Par 64.

The pro shop is nice and accommodating. Discs, towels, food, water and clothing. There is also a food truck on site. Looking forward to some golf and the temps are looking good.

I just saw Mark 'Gator' Gates on RAGBRAI. Tomorrow, I'll probably run into Albert Nelson.

Yeah I spotted Latch playing a casual round with Kuzi a couple weeks ago when BW's was at Walnut. I almost didn't realize who it was. Kuzi says "he hasn't played much in years and he's parking everything, he's still got it"
