Is it to make it look bigger than it is? Seems unlikely. Maybe better protection or longevity for the product? Interesting decision.

Yes, I was surprised by the weight of the glass too. I really doubt it has any effect on preserving the product though. Assuming the caps are good, the light transmission properties may be the biggest factor the glass could have on product degradation, and the glass doesn't look any darker.

Where can you get Jolly Pumpkin in Des Moines? Picked up the La Roja and Golden at Johncy's in N. Liberty over the weekend. Wasn't crazy about the Roja, but liked the Golden. Want to try some of the others. Looked like Johncys had them all.

Drop all that in a giant cooler and bring it to league. Chance for you to be as popular as Sarge.

Mandie and I spent 6 hours at Toppling Goliath on Friday. The city, people, beer, food and activities are awesome! Hands down one of my favorite places/towns!

It appears that people are liking TG..

http://beeradvocate.com/lists/midwest

I have buddies throughout the country who are starting to hear more and more about them and are asking me to hook them up. It's kind of a pain getting TG and I only live 2 hours away. GNug and Pseudo Sue are too hard to find on tap in the Cedar Rapids area.
