Not yet but Barry Schultz can't call himself on foot faults any more.

Wonder if everyone will be looking at their phone for distances now. Probably good to get rid of that restriction. Too hard to police in this day and age.

Wonder why they switched primary marker to be the disc rather than a mini, and what effect it has, if any.

Yeah I'm a little confused with the disc as the primary marker. Does this mean that one has to throw from the disc from everywhere unless something is obstructing your lie( or is it spot? :)) , like a tree?

I can see people using GPS making play slower, but I guess they should take care of that with 30 seconds starting when the disc is approached. I know I'm going to try to take advantage of it at courses that I'm not as familiar with.
Force, Wraith, Teebird, Pig, Buzzz, Cobra, Challenger...This week at least.

The disc as primary, mini as an alternative kind of makes no sense.

yeah, and changing the time to get your scorecard in from 25 to 30 minutes. Nice rule change

Maybe they think it will encourage people to use the disc more. In the fairway it doesn't make that much difference anyway, and might speed play a little. Some people probably mark it because they feel that is the closest to the rules, and tradition. This gives those anal retentive types permission to start using the disc as marker. :)

I think the rule that will matter with that change (not that anyone gave a shit) is the OB rule. When you go OB you have to use a mini to mark your lie, you're not supposed to use a disc. I think now you can use a disc.

"A scorecard is late after 30 rather than 25 minutes."

Adding 5 more minutes here.... maybe they can reduce the Lunch Break by 5 between rounds then....maybe they were reading our Lunch break posts

Ha! That was exactly my first thought. No way cards are getting turned around if the TD doesn't even have them for a half hour!

Stibal, it's a 1-shot penalty now for playing from the wrong lie.

As Charlie Murphy would say, "Wrong!" I don't think there is any situation where you'd ever set a disc down for a lie. You only use the disc as it lies when coming to rest. For anything that requires repositioning you must use a marker.

Thanks. I PM'ed Chuck Kennedy and asked him both of our rules questions. We played it correctly in both instances.
