Sugar Bottom 2013

Sugar Bottom 2013

Postby Buzzz Killington » Mon Mar 25, 2013 7:14 pm

I emailed the corps to ask when the gate was opening. I received this:

"With the snow we just had, it will not be this week. Check back in a couple of weeks. We usually don’t open the gates until there is no more chance of snow."

Kathy S. Atkinson, Administrative Officer
US Army Corps of Engineers

I'm excited. I walked in Saturday before the snow and had a good, albeit muddy round.

Yea, they don't want to spend the money to plow or patrol the area if they don't have to. Completely understandable and I am wicked excited to not have to walk in.

Sugar Bottom should be opening on Wednesday April 10th. Someone just called the Corps of Engineers to find that out.

My pal Josh said he made it in Friday with the gate already opened. I'm psyched for this season

2 is on a a peninsula, 3 is under water, don't go right on 4, don't go long or too far right on 5, creek on 11 may be high. Everything else should be good except for the practice baskets.

I'm just going by what I know from seeing the water this high before, I haven't actually been out there yet.
