2013 Team Tourney

Postby 1semenking » Mon Dec 24, 2012 2:12 pm

Not that anyone as been paying attention, but it sounds like this might happen again this year. We need to get the ball rolling in order to field a team for this event.

Biggest concern is who do we have willing to travel this far?! And are there enough of us to do it?!

I like the idea of a tryout and this has been the chosen method in recent years. But, I also like different and think that any idea is an option.

Feed back necessary!!!!

Thank you!

That is all!

Do you know what day they decided on? I couldn't find a cemented date. I know the tentative date on the tourney schedule posting is March 31st (Easter Day), I could probably swing any other day than that.

My bad, I was looking at the 2012 schedule so it's not March 31st but I still couldn't find a definitive date.

Sprague is still working on this but I have been informed that they are ahead of schedule on determining the date. At this rate Garrett, I'm not even sure we can get enough players to go this far for an amazing event. I hope that I don't have to miss out on this!!

I don't want to miss out on this either. I can post something in the CDGC page on facebook and hopefully we can get the word out for qualifying, or whatever we choose to do for tryouts, to everyone who is most likely reading this or not a student.

Just as Jake stated, it all depends on the date. No need to post anywhere else until we know when it will be for sure. I think that is a great idea though Garrett. I just hope it doesn't get played during the Collegiate Champioships. We can definitely use some help from those guys!!!

Collegiate Championships had slipped my mind but I'll keep an eye peeled for that date as well.

Looks like the team event will be held on Saturday March 30th.

Lets get the ball rolling and see if we can do this!!

When are the collegiate championships this year Jake? If there is no conflict, see how many of your team members would be interested in this. Get some input on team forming from them and lets get together.

WOOOOHOOOO!!!

Also anyone who wants to get out & throw, I will be at Stable around 1pm on Sunday. This would be a good time to start talking about possibilities for the team tourney & maybe set up a time next week to meet & discuss specifics further. It's only a month & half away so the sooner we start in on deliberations the better.

The Collegiate Championships is the first week of April. The team would probably be leaving on Monday of that week.

Yeah the club will definitely be around and willing to participate. We don't leave until Tuesday April 2nd for nationals.

I'll speak for the club and say we will have plenty of members wanting to qualify for the state team this year. I will get the word out and let you guys know what's up. Is there an official website or any info that I can send out?

Hopefully they get the format posted soon.

Again I will be out on Sunday for whoever wants to throw & discuss the tourney. Once they do announce the format & we have a rough estimate of how many people want to try out we can really get the ball rolling.
