Played 9th grade football with John, he was a fine fellow as far as I was concerned. Jim was a bit more brash and cocky, didn't know him much. He was QB at UM for a couple years while I was there, I suppose he was as easy to "hate" as any BMOC. Both these guys were deep into football as very young men, no surprise to those who knew them they'd be successful.

Seriously.

Good to hear from someone who knows them, not just how ESPN portrays them.

Jack was an assistant coach at Iowa from 1971-1973 so I would say they maybe went to school in IC?

NEW YORK (AP) - Nice job, Roger Goodell. Here's your pay: $29.49 million.
NFL owners nearly tripled the commissioner's compensation in the 2011 tax year and likely made Goodell the best paid commissioner in U.S. sports.

Now there's a BOUNTY program I'd like to have a piece of.

boun·ty (bount)
n. pl. boun·ties
1. Liberality in giving.
2. Something that is given liberally.
3. A reward, inducement, or payment, especially one given by a government for acts deemed beneficial to the state, such as killing predatory animals, growing certain crops, starting certain industries, or enlisting for military service.

Dan-o, we need a little side bet on Saints/Panthers this season. Have your Saints been busy this off-season? I haven't been watching. Panthers have signed Hixon and Ginn Jr, and some cornerback from the Bears. There seems a solid upside on those, so I hope they pan out.

not real active... tried to grab a couple cheap upgrades on teh defense, hopefully we'll make a splash in the draft at #15.. if we get a pass rusher it could be dangerous. I am 65% confident in Rob Ryan as a good DC, 100% confident he is an upgrade from Spagnuolo.

If letting our starting LT walk in FA ends up getting Brees sacked more I'm going to flip.

Panthers need a new Coach/QB combo to stay alive in the South this year. Name your terms

New coach/QB combo? Are you crazy? They're no Peyton/Brees, but I'll stick with them.

Let's make it at least enough that somebody can buy a beer on the winnings. How about $10 per head-to-head game, and $20 for most wins on the season (no tie-breaker -- a tie is a push)? That's $40 max loss. I'll have to scrape if it's me, but I don't think it will be.

Spend most of my day in the car listening to sports radio and again it was taken over by Tebow. He is the most covered athlete of my life who hasn't done a thing in his sport. It's the NBA finals....hush with the NFL talk
