David McCormick and I are working on a deal to put the new Diablo DT in the am/int players packs at the Greater Des Moines Challenge. Here's what he says about them, "It is very similar to the Inferno but with golf ball dimple technology on the wing. It is a bit farther flying and can be thrown lower to the ground without flipping over."

Whether or not we get them will depend on the price I think.

I got one in my BG player pack.. I like it. It flips but comes out faster than an inferno. It is a big D disc.

He's just talking about how TJ's events used to all be GDS sponsored events. (In Osky.)

there's nothning wrong w/ Dave trying to penetrate the DSM market a little more - being such a hotbed for DG & all... IN the am/int packs? Cool! Will there be more than 1 disc in the packs for ther $50 fee? I'm holding off on registering because of that price... :-?

Yeah, I'm hoping to get two discs (one with our hotstamp from Innova and one from Gateway), a mini (Little Flyer from ProFlight) and a polo in the am/int players pack. If Discraft gives me a great offer, there might be one from them as well. Spread the love, ya know?

My philosophy (and the club's current philosophy) is that you grow the sport with am/int players. So, I try to make the players packs very nice to do draw in ppl like you Jason, who'd otherwise maybe not fork out the money to compete in an A tier event. The disc companies will usually cut us a great deal on the discs in return for us getting their disc into so many players' hands at the same time.

back on the diablo dt. got one yesterday from mike and feels good. longer than the rag inferno and doesn't flip as easy. kinda gotta let it go at a hyzer and it flips out to straight. gotta get used to it better but it's stayin in the bag for a while. could be the first piece of gateway i have ever carried more than 2 days. p.s. do they come in any other color than black?
thanks again mr. robinsonImage

The Diablo is a great disc. I am using it for flip-up shots and down wind shots.

Green is a little more under-stable than the purps......

First off...how the heck did I miss this post almost 2 months ago?

Secondly...there hasn't been a Gateway disc given out as payout or players pack in over 2 years now.

Thirdly...the DiscNut Pro/Am was the only tournament that was a sanctioned GDS Tour. The OPC Open has never been or never will be a Gateway tournament.
