Need a new forehand bomber

Need a new forehand bomber

Postby anubis080 » Sat Aug 25, 2012 8:24 pm

I love my Z Nukes, but they are straight stable. A Nuke SS is too flippy. I'm looking for a disc that with a large amount of snap, 10' high, will hold a tight S and not pan out very far.

I can certainly tell the difference between a speed 13 and 11 with my forehand, but the difference in distance isn't too large, maybe 50'. I am definitely looking for speed 12+ for a tight S line that is thrown on just a slight hyzer. This shot is primarily for around 450+ for distance.

Any input would be great, discs I have already thrown, and am looking for something other than them, are:

Champ/Star Destroyer
C/S PD2 (S was wicked)
Legacy Cannon (haven't thrown it enough, so still a maybe)
Legacy Rampage (too stable)
Havoc (unpredictable)
Halo (not enough rim depth)
Ape(inc Blizz)- dumps out too hard
Star/Champ Boss- too stable
Force- too slow
King- garbage
Quasar- too stable for this shot

I think I might have to pick up an S-line one. I'll wait for a few more responses and go to iron lion :)

I've had some success with the Star Katana and Pro Boss. They are similar. Of all the Boss molds the Pro holds that S flight the best for me.

If you want to add some others to your list, the Lat64 Halo and Westside King are both pretty big bombers. The king might be a smidge faster than the Halo. Not to mention, they both come in some pretty sweet plastic.

I've been struggling to find a disc that I liked for sidearms for quite awhile myself, and by quite awhile I mean like 5 years. Alas, I have found one. The new Scorpius from Millennium. It's similar to a Quasar, but without the giant rim and not quite as overstable. I've been struggling to throw sidearm anywhere near 300ft and now I'm easily doing it with this disc.

Clue, are you throwing the Zero-G, S, or Q Scorpius?

I heard they were just a little slower but less fade. anything 12 speed or faster is good.

got 3 more nukes, but they are 171. they flip just a little, but just still not what I'm looking for. I might check out gottagogottathrow's stability chart.

You can also look at Marshall Street's chart.

I know they are expensive, but try the flx crystal nukes. I find them to be a bit beefier than regular z nukes, and they can hold that fast tight line for flicks. I just started playing with them 2 weeks ago but they seem a better fit than regular z nuke. More trustworthy.

They definitely are more stable. Actually, for a moderately overstable forehand, I have really started to like the S-Line PD2. Amazingly consistent and incredibly fast. I found it to be faster than my C-Line that I have.

But, I am looking for a moderately understable driver. It would have the same stability like a champ beast...but faster heh. I still haven't found the sweet spot for this!
