There are a few long pads that aren't marked on the map that you should try.
Hole 1-Old ball golf tee, have to shoot over the pond
Hole 2-Tee just to the right of the bridge, shoots over the creek, righty hyzer tee shot followed by a, oh, 300 ft upshot to the green

Holes 3&4, we just switch pads to make em a little more challenging...Even tho hole 4 is already a great hole

Hole 5 has a new mowed spot directly right of hole 4's basket. Adds about 50 feet to the hole.

Makes the course play a few strokes harder.

Course is getting a little busier...Saw the Beerys, Adkisons, Ledbetters  all out yesterday. With several groups of random people too.

Cant wait til we get the next 9 on the ski hill

I walked it with Rick and tried to recommend that he not stick to the old golf course, but sounds like he did anyway. However, I was encouraged by original reports from the GVCC who seemed to like it. I'm skeptical about the back nine from what Rick showed me. There's a lot of potential there, but I'm not sure he's gonna take advantage.

That being said, I'm excited to see how a private course is going to do in this market. I certainly hope everyone gives it a chance and respects the rules. He has a couple of advantages there, an outdoor liquor license and lights on the ski hill so that when that nine goes in it can be played at night!

so many locust trees to eat discs out there. seems like half of the baskets are guarded by them. hole 4 and 5 are the two best holes out there imo

First time there and I had a thorn stuck in one of my discs. Don't take any discs you care much about.

Must be a southside thing i'm with duden. Hole 2 tee (errr sand box)you are throwing right at ppl on#9 tee bad design. I think 2 would be better if u played the short pad to 3s basket. Or get rid of 9 and tee off straight over the water plays alot better this way. Holes 4, 5 are definetly there best holes. We also played 3s tee to 4s basket much better hole. Hole 1 from the long is ok but theres also nothing in your way either sorta boring. I think it plays like a tweener course. Southwoods is still a better 9 hole course. Its better than crivaro but that isnt saying much. Hopefully they will make some changes with the feedback given. I'd give it a 3 outta 5 rating.

No, its a semi-retiree thing. I agree on hole 2's "long" pad. But to be honest it really shouldnt be played from there. The marked pad is a fine hole. Seen a 2-5 on that hole already. Course does need a little trimming esp 7-8. Complaints of trees and thorns in discs just makes me think you guys thru horrible shots. A slight redisgn to get rid of hole 3 and put another hole in somewhere would be cool( I can see from the sign "Wait til the group in front returns to the tee area" that it was a clusterfuck as a ball golf hole). Be nice if they could connect the 2 9's someway instead of having them on the opposite sides of the park...not sure what there plans are for that tho. Gimme a break on Southwoods. Course was fun, in highschool, before I ever played a good course  Waukee has that shit dominated
