Course Damage

Course Damage

Postby Peil » Wed Mar 28, 2007 9:40 am

I got a call at work today that someone went for a joyride through the park in their car last night leaving deep tracks through the fairways of some of the holes and then hitting the 4x4 post that the tee sign for hole #3 is on. I'm not sure the extent of the damage but i just hope that it f'ed up their car twice as much as it did our course.

Upon further investigation, it appears that some kids were out joyriding in the park when their vehicle got stuck. The kids got the person who we assume supplied the underaged kids with beer to pull them out so that nobody would get busted. It appears that the 4x4 and tee sign for #3 was in their way because they pulled it out of the ground and moved it out of their way before pulling out the vehicle. The Franklin County Police Department believes they know who the person was that pulled out the other vehicle (they hadn't bothered to wash their truck yet and is know for suppling underaged kids). That person has 24 hours to come up with the names of the kids that were driving around in the park or he will have to fix all the damage himself.

Wow. That's the advantage to being in a small town where everybody knows everybody.

lmao, and the disadvantage being, that there's nothing better to do than goin' muddin' in the park.

I think a suitable punishment would be for them to have to spend a few weeks holding up posters in the park that say "We're the guys that thought it would be fun to tear up ruts on your disc golf course". Then disc golfers could like throw dogshit at them or something.

You're close. As of the 2000 Census, there were 262 people residing in Coulter. And I know that I've added two to that number since then.

more vandalism

Postby Peil » Tue Jul 24, 2007 8:02 pm

It saddens me that the only news I ever have to report from my home course of Coulter is more vandalism. Last night the 4x4 posts for the tee signs on holes 1 and 2 were removed from the ground, baskets 1 and 9 were loosened from the ground, one street light next to the ball diamond was broken, a stop sign and a street sign in the park were both removed from the ground and placed in the middle of the ball diamond, and the main sign to the disc golf course (the one with a map of the course and a list of sponsors) was removed from the ground, bent to hell, and also placed in the middle of the ball diamond. I believe that was everything besides all the broken beer bottles (Busch Light... f*ckin' rednecks) but it's hard to say because I could have been partly blinded by rage.

Wow. I'm really sorry to hear that, RP. I can't imagine how pissed off I'd be seeing that.

so what it is it? 262 folks, and no cops? Here's an idea, maybe the police should drive by the park once in a while (especially at night). Seems like all they did had to have taken either a mob, or quite a bit of time.

You're exactly right, 262 people and zero cops. We don't have a town cop and the county cops used to drive through town once a week but I'm not sure they even do that anymore. We couldn't even get them into town to look at the damage. Even if you did catch somebody doing something, who knows how long it would take to get any police there. It would probably be me that was getting hauled away anyway if I was the person to catch the ones doing it.
