King of Courses is basically a "mini" tournament Iron Lion hosts bout twice a month throughout the spring/summer/fall in the Quad Cities.. Wednesday nights and we utilize most the courses in the area. 1 Round, $10 to play, and $1 ROLLING Ace fund.. (So, if you didn't play the first king of courses, it will be $2 for you to get in on the ace fund since it wasn't hit.. everybody pays in the same and it continues to "roll" throughout the KOC season).. 4 Divisions. Pro, Advance, Int/Rec, and Women.. Pro division pays out cash, the rest in Iron Lion Funny money..

Fun time, great way to get your foot in the door with tournament style play without making a huge financial commitment and much more laid back than an actual tournament..

At the end of the season, we'll run the King of Courses tournament, which is invite only for those that have played at least one KOC event.. This is where we'll pay out the "added cash" that we've collected $1 from everyone's entry throughout the season..

We generally average bout 40 players-- last night was pretty exceptional with 59..

Oh, and most importantly--- we keep points in each division all season to ultimately crown the "King of the Course"

All hail King TJ Nydle!!! (2011 Pro Series winner)

^If I did my math correctly, that was 54 total players that played last night. That is an excellent turn out for league!

Even better was the new faces! We also had several players travelling to GBO that wasnt there. Camden 1 is one of the more played courses in the QCs though, so it wasnt shocking.

Thanks Everyone!

I brought it up a number of times when I was on the club board, but it got shot down due to the vending side of things. A club is not stocked well enough to have a tourney style payout every week, so its best if a vendor runs it. So the club league, as is, continues on.

The Throwdown is the closest thing we have to a weekly mini series, but to make the leap it needs to rotate to different courses , ixnay the handicaps, and keep a season point total.

It's monthly and don't do a merch pay out do cash. And work out some rules so someone doesn't just bag a division.
