That's been fixed for 2012 with a rating based on at least 12 rounds. Even if you have league rounds included in your rating before playing a qualifier, you'll have to qualify by doing well at that qualifier by playing above your rating.

This is precisely what I wanted to address with this year's qualifier, but I wasn't quite sure how to say it. Ratings are like hands of poker. 7-2 off can win any particular hand, but the more hands you play the worse it will do. I think we need to do something that rewards or at least evens the playing field for more established players.

I wanted to give everyone a couple weeks to weigh in on this, especially those that are interested in trying to qualify. I'd love to hear some unique ideas or thoughts on this. Either way I'll nail down our plan of attack in the next couple weeks.

Whatever happened to...One Division One Champion...
This whole 'lets level the playing field' is a bunch of hogwash IMO...If you have a 950 rating and happened to play 50 points above it four rounds in a row, congratulations, but it still took you 20 additional strokes to complete the tournament than the people who should have won
I want to get a vending machine with fun sized candy bars...and the glass in front is a magnifying glass. You'll be mad, but it will be too late.

They're still doing that, it just so happens there's another tournament on the same course at the same time.

So, I have heard absolutely no feedback on this year's qualifier. I'm tempted to just take it myself if nobody weighs in!

In all seriousness, I kind of want a head count of who's interested in going. If there's only a few of us then I'd like to just decide between us. Let me know!

Throw my name in the hat for interest. I like the format too. Which one's are you thinking?

Seeing as it is up to you I am not sure what kind of feedback you are looking for?

Are you looking to do something simlar to last year? I believe legion of doom was used. I have no idea how you did it. If I remember correctly there was a lot of confusion b/c you didn't make it.

I am interested.

I'm looking for ideas. I could make this as simple or complex as possible. I could make it scratch scoring or handicapped. I could make it merit based and just choose somebody.

I'd prefer to use some sort of series, but with gas prices I don't want to make it too demanding. I'd like to charge an entry fee up front for those that are interested to help the winner with travel expenses and to make sure those that are interested are serious.

And I'd predominantly like to hear from those who are serious about going, not from people like AO who don't even understand what's going on! J/K....sort of....
