2011 Ace Race Disc

Went in the bag immediately. Seems life a hybrid putter/mid that has a lot of float to it. Larger diameter disc. If I were to compare it to something I would think it would be a spin off from the Aero....

Been carrying one in the bag now for the past few weeks...180g esp. It replaced my proto magic. So far it is a great disc. And I would agree with the Aero comparison. It has a lot of glide to it. Slow and deliberate flight path. Great touch approach disc as well as short drives. It also works great as a catch disc for warming up.

Just as a basis...I throw comets.

I would say my esp ace race is similar to an X-Comet(Just slower), real straight out of the box with just a touch of right turn in the high speed portion and a tiny bit of fade in the low speed. Has about the same break-in period as an x-comet as well.

slower, a bit touchier, needs a bit more air. if you've thrown an aero, you've pretty much thrown the new disc

nope, its a lot different from an aero. The grip alone is a lot different. This is deeper and can handle more power than an aero. They look similar.

I would say they have the flight of a Zephyr and feel of an Aero...

ZEPPELIN

Postby mkurtz » Tue Nov 29, 2011 6:27 pm

I have a sentimental reason for liking this disc since i used it to win the acerace in Ames. Since most people don't care for it , i go against the grain and put it in my bag.
It's great for short under 175 ft anhyzer shots and since it's discraft i will endorse this disc.
ZEPPELIN has given me alot of metal hits and needs a clean release similar to a comet/ aero.
Time to get the Led(zeppelin) out 8)
I intend to give one to my nephew who threw it on thanksgiving and did great with it.

Careful with the metal hits. You don't want any sparks around this disc.
