How about a backstop to the left side of the left basket, along the path to 8 tee? It would stop a few discs from going into that giant woodpile between 7 and 8.

Good idea Greg, I think I will cut that pile back some too, would be nice to have most of the putting circle free of debris.

I think those are both great ideas Greg and Jim.
That pile of sticks has needed cut back for a long time.

Stibal is leaving the chainsaw on loan with me until the weekend so I stocked up on fuel and bar oil, might work rather than play for league, maybe if we have odd number I'll do that.

Definitely, will be out after work on Friday starting at least by 4:30 if anyone wants to help.

Just an FYI, the crap between 7 & 8 was left there intentionally so errant throws or rick-o-shays on 8 would be knocked down instead of ripping towards 7's basket. If it gets cleaned up, we'll need to find a way to screen 7's green.

Nice safety feature Jeff! (not sarcasm! I have almost got hit by discs in that area before!)

It seems like more often it is a decent drive on 7 that ends up in there, even ones that might've stopped inside the circle. So maybe some more wood piled up as a backstop can help on 7 without losing the safety feature.

I'll try to get out there on Sat morning to do some stuff.

This would be a great place to make an improvised fence or wall with the debris.

We can make a fence with some of the pile that we clean up and put the big logs on the west side of the pile. It would block off that area where people have been starting to walk through and make them walk back down the appropriate path to hole eight. There have been many times I have been playing and people just walk out into the eight fairway up on the high side. That could help make the seven to eight fairway even more safe.

I am going to try to get out today before league and clean up the stuff that I cut down on Tuesday. If anyone wants to help around 4:30 or wants to just beat me to it...there are trees and limbs down on hole 6 (long fairway) all the way up to the basket that need to be moved well off the fairway. Also, there is the big logs on 7, they are not that heavy because it is dead and dried up, we need to roll them somewhere, but they can probably stay as long as the pin stays to the right. On 8, the leaning trees were cut down near the red pad, that needs to be cleaned up as well.

I'm gonna bring the saw and try to clean up a little more near the long placement on 6.

Here is what the fairways are looking like with the pole saw work and the weed eater around all of the trees in the fairway.

I worked about an hour before league tonight.
I also got a start on picking up the large logs on seven and setting them between the seven basket and the eight fairway.
Jim did some chainsaw work on five and six.
Everyone at league tonight said that the course is looking great.

I picked up some sticks and logs this morning at the peninsula. I also raked a lot of the little debris in the fairway that is hard to pick up by hand and moved it off the the sides on holes two and seven.

Weed eater at hole three today.
Red and blue tee pads and signs done.
The tall mound of grass island in the middle is now done.
All of the trees in the fairway have been trimmed around.
I widened the fairway a bit and the green around the basket is now larger.
The directional markers on three have been cleared.

I started on hole four.
The red and blue tee pads and signs have been trimmed.
I got the giant grove of nettles in the fairway trimmed to the ground.
I had an issue with my weed eater after that and had to go home otherwise I would have gotten hole four done today.

Hole eighteen long basket.
I picked up a bunch of branches and sticks that had been cut down and cleared out several thorn bushes.

Greg did a great job clearing a path down to the red tee pad on hole fourteen.
Thank you very much Greg!

Slowly but surely...

Hole 15 Blue.

I failed to take a true before picture of this. For people that play the pen regularly you will remember the tree was crazy bushy all the way to the ground. Trying to get it trimmed back to the section where the tree splits into two about 30-35' off the ground

Taking a while :)

Ladder at full extension from the back of my old pickup, what I'd give for one of those phone company trucks with the bucket right about now!

Almost there! Maybe one more night and this will be done.
