Postby Beerman » Mon Aug 08, 2011 10:27 am

We are having a worknight this Wednesday at Ewing Park to prepare the course for the Des Moines Open.

I am going to need as many people as possible.

There are trees or branches down on the following holes 8 / 12 / 14 / 17

I have 3 tee signs that need to be reset with crete

Drainage ditch on hole 11 needs cleaned out

Move 2 baskets to tournament layout and set 2 additional collars

All right guys I am feeling like crap today but this stuff needs done so work night is still on. If you have time to come out and help please do so as there is no way I can get everything done on my own this time.

I am trying to get the gator and I will have my chainsaw and weed eater just need people to run them.

Thank you.

Good job Dave and crew on moving some baskets @ Ewing. Liked new #5 although its really a righty dream hole. #18 to the right makes it all good.

I spent 5-10 minutes but couldn't find 17 short, grass was to tall.

Keep up the awesome job crew!!

I don't think it favors righties, but it certainly makes it easier. Seemed like a lot of work to pull the old sleeve out when it's still serviceable, so I like the option of having 2 pin placements up there. I think it's going to score better too, giving up more 3s than before while still having plenty of 4s and 5s.

I think there is a lefty route on the back side of the hole that would work too. (I know Reiher was salivating at the thought of that).

We played the shorts, my drive was left of the middle pin so its a anhyzer for a lefty. I would never recommend going left side way to many trees your only asking for a 5 or worse. I almost forget bout #15 being home also, hate the long pin makes me yawn.

I think Dave did an awesome job with pin locations, theres a good mix of long, and short holes.
