MCHOSE PARK INFO AND UPDATES

Have a fundraiser tourny. I know you would get a decent turnout. Most of the money could go into a new basket/bridges ect. If the P&R see how much interest in it, maybe they would match the funds. Id recommend doing it when the creeks are low tho

I'd love to see the course fixed up. I've tossed around the idea of a fund raising tourney, but the time just hasn't been available. As it stands now, it's about too late to organize it for this year, and once spring comes the creeks will be far too deep.

I'd love the idea of an annual fund raiser though. The course has tons of potential if it gets the improvements and maintenance that it needs. Hell, its probably still my favorite course in central Iowa, even in the state that its in.

And the undergrowth gone. hell, make it an ice bowl! Not sure if I'd have the time to play, but I'd donate an entry if it's reasonable for the fund raiser.

Jeez. Icebowl plus McHose sounds like Donner party in the making to me.

Its just those 2 holes...8,9 or 9,10 (I forget which) I dont even know how those holes get mowed. The "bridges" are gone, the fairway of the 900 footer is knee high grass. The hole after's long pad is under a ton of trees, and there is no path to the basket from the tee pad. Literally had to walk through a jungle and hope you get lucky enough to pop out where the basket is. Other than that its in fine shape. Its our own fault, we should have looked at the crossing before we threw out tee shots on the 900 ftr. After scratching our asses for 15 min we decided to say fvck it and jumped in the creek to go get our discs  and the basket on the 900 ft hole is still gone???!! Could I recommend taking an extra one from Stable run and putting it up? I realize its a pain, but you dont need 2 baskets on every hole out there. Its nice but not needed. Stable is looking pretty good right now tho.

boone disc golf

Postby mkurtz » Sat Jul 07, 2012 8:39 am

Boone disc golf has secured approximately 16-18 hole sponsors from local business's who pay to have their names put on tee signs around the course.

Later this month the parks department is having a fund raiser for general park improvements the 21 st i believe. a meet and eat at Mchose park shelter . Tickets are 5 a piece .

Thats all i know, oh yes, the course is ready for rain .... they have about six inches of mulch around each hole on top.

Earler this spring when i took my yearly pilgrimage down below i couldn't find the pin placement for hole 8 (for those who always ask)

I haven't played here in about three years was thinking about playing around when I go to visit my parents next ....anybody know the conditions of the course? was there any damage from the storms this winter? are all 18 baskets there?
A bad day at disc golf is still better than a good day at anything else.... Unless its also disc golf
