Holes 10 & 11 are closed prob until June.
The Army Corps (in all their brilliant wisdom) has decided the oak trees need to be saved from disc golf, so they/we have implemented a couple of strategies to help these trees.
Last year we lined the fairways with timber and put down wood chips (this is to prevent soil compaction).
This year ACoE did a "Timber Stand Improvement", which translates to cut down every tree that is not an oak (get rid of competing trees).
After all these downed trees are removed and chipped, ACoE will plant grass seed on the hillsides of both holes (to prevent erosion). This grass is made to withstand high foot traffic and doesn't need to be mowed very often (perfect for disc golf).
Then, some type of barriers are going to be installed to protect the trees that receiving the most damage (prob the ones closest to the tee pad).
This should all be completed around the beginning of June.
Just FYI; if this works out well, next year we will close 12-17 and the next year 3-7 to get this new grass started.
