i am visiting the Des Moines area again this year. i am looking to play some new courses i didnt get to play the last time i was in town. i plan on playing ewing park and pickard park for sure. im thinking about going to lions park, lewis, gateway and stable run. walnut ridge is a course i really want to play as well but i hear it is closed for the season, the last time i was in town i heard you could park somewhere and walk into the park. is this true? if so i would like to play that course. if anyone is willing to be a guide at any of these courses let me know. i am a advanced level player wanting to see the best course you have in the area. also if there are any courses on my list that are not woth going to see let me know.

Good luck with that timing, if I'm not mistaken Ewing takes more time than that to play. The drive always seems like a half hour but that may be my slow driving or stopping for a refreshment along the way.
ewing will take 1.5 to 2hrs if u have real small group like 1 or two pickard expect 3 hrs poss two of the greatest courses we have tho i would leave akeny off your sched its not bad but wasting trip time in my opinion
