This should be an interesting subject. Thoughts anyone?

I think you should appoint it to Ryan Nicely, he's a good kid with lots of upside.

I like the idea of IA Tour events points series. Let's someone earn it by playing good golf all season, not just one day.

a speed golf round, only using a putter, and you have a 12-pack. the 12-pack must be gone before you hole out on 18. fastest time wins, and every stroke under par takes a minute off.

its only fair

Great idea! I dont like the Iowa Tour Series idea. In theory its a good idea but only a select few have the time and money to play almost every single event. I dont like the one-tournament idea either. Id say the best finishes in the biggest three events (Challenge, LOD, ? (Lamoni?) in some sort of points series. Like Anthon said, a bunch of little C-tiers and short tournaments dont mean shit unless you can play your best at the biggest tournaments consistently.

This will be the format for the 2013 USDGC.

Did I miss something? I thought that USDGC went to every other year.

So it shows youre more consistent by playing 3 events, opposed to a dozen or so of them? :?

It wouldnt be a fluke if you finished high in those top three events (or make it 4-5). If you want the whole Iowa Tour series just give Tanner or AO the spot right now. A 3-4-5 event idea is much more fair than a whole series, takes a fluke (or 2) high finish out of the fray, and is still highly competitive.

You also dont have to play every event on the schedule. They only take your best 7 or so finishes. I think this is the best way to show who has been the most consistent thru out the year. And if you cant afford to play 7 c-b tiers in a year, why do you think you could afford to go to the USDGC? I dont really think its a select few that can afford it since there are the same 30 plus people at all tournys every week.

I dont think TD or AO have ever taken the spot.....They have usually qualified somewhere else before hand. This gives the other pros a chance to qualify, like MDR, Clue, Stibal, TJ, ect. You know, they guys that have some serious game but on average wont finish high up in the other qualifying events. Im still just trying to understand how less events makes it more fair than a series...

You are contradicting yourself here, and cost isnt and shouldnt be an issue. I should have taken "money" out of my original post.
