Sorry guys but league is canceled tonight. I just went to GV and they have the whole front half closed down. I did a walk through and spoke with the parks guys and their working hard to get it back opened but Forestry will need to be brought in as they're limbs still hanging and several large trees down. At a quick glance I noticed 5. I wasn't able to get down to 4,5,6 but 4 already had issues. There's a couple on 7, 2 down between 9 and 10 and 1 down by 15. I'm guessing they might need a hand with the smaller stuff after they reopen. Several benches were wiped out but I didn't notice any baskets or signs fingers crossed.

I was out there on Saturday. A big branch fell by 4's tee pad and crushed the bench.

that was the first giant branch that landed right by 4's tee. About a week later (last Tuesday, during the day) another giant branch fell out of the same tree and destroyed the bench. weird....a dude at league last Tuesday said that he had played a practice round earlier that day and that it wasn't there the first time through that day....

What do you do for a handicap if we haven't played in the throwdown this year? Do you go by previous years stats? Current player rating?

His score sheet uses whatever player rating he enters. Not sure if he has prior year available, but if he puts the last player rating from the prior year, that is what is used. I think he uses current player rating though.

I'm going to be giving a group lesson on Monday nights at Grandview preceding the Monday night throwdown. 5:15 on the field by hole 6 (backstop area). Anyone is welcome to join. I'm starting with the very basics of throwing, but I think people of all levels can take something away from this.

Do you know anything about the "bent-elbow" approach to throwing? Or perhaps a better question is: Are there any gimmicks/tricks that can help us short throwers add 50 feet to our drives? With Leaf as a Bushwhackers partner, I'm feeling particularly wimpy this year!

I don't think I'm being greedy -- I just want to be able to park hole #3 at Colfax!
