I would not want to mess with this lineup :D

Please note: only one batting average under .275
Only one ERA above 4.5 (Prior doesn't count and Marquis came from the Card's so what do you expect  )

2. 2B Mark DeRosa:

3. 1B Derrek Lee:
.286 BA, 8 HR, 30 RBI in 2006
4. 3B Aramis Ramirez:
.291 BA, 38 HR, 119 RBI in 2006
5. RF Jacque Jones:
.285 BA, 27 HR, 81 RBI in 2006
6. C Michael Barrett:
.307 BA, 16 HR, 53 RBI in 2006
7. LF Matt Murton:
.297 BA, 13 HR, 62 RBI in 2006
8. SS Cesar Izturis:
.245 BA, 1 HR, 18 RBI in 2006

Projected rotation
1. Carlos Zambrano, 16-7, 3.41 ERA in 2006
2. Ted Lilly, 15-13, 4.31 in 2006

4. Rich Hill, 6-7, 4.17 in 2006
5. Mark Prior, 1-6, 7.21 in 2006

Projected bullpen
Closer: Ryan Dempster, 24 saves, 4.80 ERA in 2006

And that does not mention

Casey McGehee enjoyed an impressive Winter League season, topping all Cubs prospects in nearly every offensive category. The 24-year-old third baseman batted .300 and led Chicago farmhands in hits (74), doubles (10), homers (seven), RBIs (36), runs (35), walks (27) and games (67) while in the Mexican Pacific League.

omg I can't wait till June so I can start shredding all 47 of these "DA CUBS" threads. Talking a lot about yourself (or your team) is a sign of insecurity........

go ahead, I haven't heard the posts yet about the overrated cards, how they were the worst team to be WS CHAMPS, or how our pitching will suck this year, or how the Cubs have beaten us thouroughly the last few seasons.

Sure, you guys have a nice lineup right now on paper, let's see who stays healthy, and who you can beat. Fantasizing about October right now is hilarious to me.

Oh, yeah, maybe the Cardinals should have their leading HR hitter lead off this year, lmao.

There's some fuel for your fire. Have fun.

Yeah, you'll be shredding these threads in anger because we'll be wooping your *ss in the central. And it is a sign of pride, not insecurity. Your the one that is always talking more about the Cubs than your own team.

Like Puffin said, you have.

I'm just fantasizing about sweeping the Red's in Cinci right now. October will come, I don't need to fantasize it.

They should worry about pitching first

There's some fuel for your fire. Have fun.

We should probably start a "there's always next year" thread. I guess that doesn't happen until June or July.

I think the subject of this one sums it up pretty well. The others were previews and building blocks of this stellar lineup. I'm sure there will be others along the way. This will give all those Cubs fans out there an opputunity to see what is going on in Cub world. Some like to use it as an oppurtunity to trash talk and talk up the Deadbirds, but this thread should juist lay it on the line and state the facts. The fact is, as the first post on here shows it all. Yeah it is only on paper, and the preseason hasn't even started yet, but statistically (as shown) this team is going to be a major threat. February or April, I am going to talk 'em up as the best team, untill proven otherwise, wether it takes one thread or 20 threads.

Comeback player of the year = Mark Prior

We should probably start a "there's always last year" thread for the Card's.
