Tuesday Night Rankings

Postby calvarycoffee » Wed May 16, 2007 7:46 am

We Started this last week. We are testing the waters on a ranking system. It is actually a "bag tag" night with out the bag tags. I have yet to get some.

But here is our first weeks results:

1 Charlie Schroeder 53
2 David Swartwood 57
4 Manny Hernandez 59
4 Mike Hernandez 59

Week 2 May 15

1 David Swartwood 60
2 Jon Francis 63
3 Aaron Blaas 65
4 Doug Krueger 67
5 Duane Julson 72

If you have any suggestions for this Rankings Night, let me know.

I had an idea of letting the #1 spot get into saturday's ace pool for free as a prize.

this week we played only 14 hole 'cause of the rain.

here are the results:

#1 Manny : par
#2 Mike +3
#3 Doug +3
#4 Jon +3
#5 Dave +9 (tough day)

I made some temporary wrist bands with numbers on them. The players get a wristband # according to their place. Throughout the week, Lower # Players can challenge players with higher #'s.

Winners recieve the higher # wristband after 9 or 18 holes of competition. Groups more than 2 can compete and wager all wristbands.

If this seems to work well, and players like it, we'll get some custom made wristbands or "bag tags."

For incentives, I am thinking that whoever shows up on saturday doubles league having the highest and 2nd highest # wristbands will get a free in to the Ace or CTP pool.

The highest # can choose which pool he wants into, and 2nd # gets the other.

i will run this by everyone at saturday league before we actually start with the free pool entry.

We've been doing the "rankings" for several weeks now.

It seems that this format is not working with our demographics. Each week is a different group of people competing. and the format is not working as intended.

--------------

So, we experimented with playing a skins game last week. we had some good responses to it.

we can keep trying the format out.

I'd like to try QUARTER skins tonight. everyone bring $1 and each hole will be worth $.25. Whatever extra quarters we have we can keep playing for them. example: 6 players=24 quarters=24 holes of play

if we get up to 36 quarters (9 players) we can double the holes' worth ($.50 per hole)

We can try it tonight with the money. see how it works.
