Thanks everyone for your comments about the Team and the upcoming season. This wasnt easy for me at all. Obviously, it doesnt look hard as most everyone returned, but thats more to do with my loyalty to my friends and customers/supporters than anything else. To have to break the Team into a more competitive type of format was something I had been avoiding. It wasnt what I had in mind when I started the Team. It was more about a travelling support system and a thanks from the shop. But here we are. I hope it doesnt weaken the bond between Team Members.

The resume thing went over like a Orphanage fire. Im glad its all said and done. Congrats to everyone that made it through the process. If it didnt work out in your favor, dont feel bad. Work harder.

I love seeing the new faces on the team that have put a lot of time and effort into their games. Congrats on beating Cancer Steddy and welcome. Huge congrats to Ryan Nicely, way to work your way on kid. I know Evan and FB are captains, but can I please be in charge of hazing in the new guys?

New guys, next time that 6 footer falls out, or you hit the tree right off the teepad and want to get pissed and scream, remember that you are no longer playing for just the name written on the bottom of your discs, but you are also playing for the logo on your shirt. You have been given a great opportunity to be part of an elite group, represent the shop, the team, and Chase and Jessicas belief in you through everything you do on the course. Talk to the rec players, let them know that Walgreens, Hy-Vee, and that "shop?" in Davenport do not support the sport that they try to profit from. Show up early to tourneys or stay after and help out, there is always something for you to do. No matter if it is an Iron Lion event or not. TDs are overworked, tired, and underappreciated on gameday. Help them out and show that team Iron Lion is there to make the sport better. Finally, show up to work nights as much as you can, not only is it good karma, but it gives you a new respect for the game.

Welcome to the team new guys and glad to be back old timers. Thanks again Chase and Jess!

If'n anyone wants to give a little back, the "work crew" at Camden II is always welcoming to new (or old) faces. You don't need to have equipment, just a little energy, and some time. Feel free to PM me for info. Probably Chris wouldn't mind, but I don't want to speak for him. We did monday nights last year, starting April as evenings get longer.
If you decide to show up, you are not "hooked into" coming every week. If you want to come occasionally, and/or for only a couple hours, Great! Lots of people did that last year. Chris is good about giving credit, and maybe a photo in the camdentwo.com blog. You could use that as part of your resume for the future.
It is work, but there is a bit of fun, beer, and BS mixed in. And it's cool to say, "I helped with that" to your buddies while playing a round.
