I gotta say the picture of Chase and Tanner in the wrestling singlets is the funniest picture on this board . It's a classic and should be on a disc.

What I thought before i went back a page and saw Fausch being called Duden. Was hoping they photoshopped someone else into the singlets.

Rodney,
Do you know any other Iowa disc golfers that have held the Iowa distance record? If so..who, what year and how far? I would like to get a traveling trophy for whoever has the record.

Thanks
AO

What's the record for throwing your bag, and who owns that? I've seen a few contenders...

And 1,2,3.. Thread drift

1997 - Rodney Gardner - 426
1997 - Dev Nelson - 431
2002 - Chris Claring - 458
2002 - Chris Sprague - 464

Mine and Claring's were records for only a few minutes, since Dev and Sprague beat us at the same event. So I don't know if you really count those.

Before me, it seems like it was maybe Bob Kramer? Whether it was Bob or not, I'll bet he knows who had it, and he might know the history before then. Definitely check with Bob if you can.

I'm 95%-ish on the 1997 for me and Dev.

Murphy won Distance at Overalls in Ottumwa in 1996 with a 408 (which I think was short of the record at the time). Steffen won in 1998 in Waverly with a 403. Found a reference to Dev's record in a post dated Sep 1998, so I'm assuming me and Dev threw ours during Overalls in Waverly in the summer of 1997.

What about the record for gradually throwing your bag into a lake because you're mad you don't have the arm to get over? Seems like I heard a 10up related story about that.

I thrown my bag pretty far...kicked it even farther. Nothing like a good yard sale. Shit is hilarious. Meltdowns are the best.

...That being said, theres no place for it in tournament play and people shouldve stroked me when it has happend. I did warn myself once. Its no excuse though.
