Would playing the tougher layout of a course first round then easier layout 2nd round help get people on the road faster?

Make sense to me but not sure how it works out in practice. Might be the same amount of time just delaying lunch longer.

Or you could look at it with 44 votes in 69% wants 45 minutes or more.

So 45 minutes isn't a bad idea....nice. :)

I'm not trying to start shit, nor am I complaining. I'm actually surprised by the results. In my mind, nothing would change other than the PDGA allowing TD's to have a choice on the length of the break. Could go longer too. Just didnt think most of your customers want that, data shows that.

The problem is that the people it takes longer to navigate a course are probably the same people that need a bit longer between rounds. If you played as slow as you use to Tanner you would only be getting an hour. .
I think its a great topic to discuss. Trust me there's days where I'm on the course 13-14 hrs Id love to be able to slim that down a bit. But I don't want to do it at anyone's expense just to please a few. Actually at the last tourney I ran the last group came in late and I approached them and asked if 45 would be sufficient and they were okay with it.

I like what you did there Shane, even though I wasn't there. I do think it should be determined by the last group coming in. If they need/want an hour then let it be.

I'd also be for shorter lunch times but with everything that the TD's during tournaments I would leave it up to them. I would be good with a 30 minute lunch but it you have to think about that last card and the circumstances. Pickard to Ewing: 15 min drive. I drive slow/speed limit and damn get hit every time on that road.
50 lashes for drinking the groups whiskey isn't steep.

voted 45. TD's need time to score cards and make the board ready, sometimes switching baskets. I don't eat a lunch unless I skipped breakfast, so really I'm ready for 36 consecutive holes, but I like being squared up with the next best players for round 2. If you have to drive to eat, 1/2hr is too short. I don't think it matters though because by the time the last card meanders in, you've often had the time to do all of your rituals, and you can't tell the slowest people that they get no break. Playing a 2 round tourny is damn near a full day event and I'm not sure there's a way around that.

Just read the past 3 pages pretty good. I think the question that needs to be answered is why groups are coming in so late? Same people? certain division? tounament over filled 5 on a card? I donk think its fair to make the guys that are there to play wait hours to play there 2nd round. When usually the groups that drag ass could careless. Im not saying starve ppl, but how considerate is the group coming late being to those that are done in a reasonable amount of time.

The biggest problem i think is 5 somes from tournament over filling. I think it would cool to see a td install a cut line. This would shrink the field, groups, and length of the 2nd round. I know some people wouldn't agree with this, but my thing is your playing a tournament. Were all there to see who the best that day is. If your way back after 1rd your done anyway.

But also the people who do a 28 second pre-shot routine even when they are putting from 6ft. A 3some of people like that can drag on several cards.

As for the 5somes, there can always be a division that has exactly 5 players.
