Legion Disc Golf Course

If you are friends with me on facebook you'll see the picture that was shared with me on there, taken by a mountain bike friend. He came up on a group of city people chatting about the land swap in the middle of one of the fairways at Legion. Said he spoke with them and it sounds like the plans for the swap are imminent. Super important that people show up tomorrow as a last ditch effort. I can't make it, but I hope that a lot of you can.

If you are free tomorrow, please go. Don't wait until these things happen and then say you wish you had done something.

That's too bad. Sound's like they are doing it regardless of public input. Pure greed! Wish I could help vote any elected officials out.

It may have not been the intention for the park board to report they do not agree with the land swap. But that was what they voted on and that is how they voted. They should report to the city council that the park board does not recommend going ahead with the land swap.

This is one small fight in a long long war that went our way. It sounds like the developers need to get the city to rezone the proposed land in order to get condos built. This could and should be another point that we do not agree with. Right now it sounded like the land was zoned for office building.

Officials could have done more to publish information about the sale and the areas it would affect, Fox said, adding, however, an 18-hole disc golf course will remain in the area.

the issue is with the developers idea of a course and ours as players.

If 3 thru 5 are indeed gone then how can 1, 2, 6 and 7 remain holes when the flow is interupted that way. If they go thru with this then giving back the old route on the hill would be the only way to save those holes.

It isn't mis information it is NO information. The develeopers when asked specifics were using wishy washy language. "We will try to keep as many trees" "We are not sure how many condos". For a proposal there wasn't much information at all. Seemed like a good ole boy plan that wasn't very well documented.

Remember, this is more than likely Obama's fault.

1,2,-nromal,
3-new up the old trail, kinda shorty anny
4- "4a' from doom
5- "4b" form doom
6- ? not sure how much of 6 will be taken away. might have to move up the pad and cut out some more foliage and move the baskets a lil deeper.
7- taj

i like this approach. minimal impact to the course. we will just have to do some erosion control and hope a certain someone will either croak or somehow go along with the plan....

Have 2 pins per hole though. I'd put the short pin for the 1st hole just around the corner a little and use most of old 6 and 7 for one hole.
