I can only blame myself for the errant tosses. Hate to badmouth the course as it is taken care of well by people that care. Just don't understand the need for the super tall grass so close to the "green", it only helps lose discs. I saw a few rec groups just flat out skipping random holes, mumbling"fuk this hole, I don't wanna lose another one" so that was the kid I gave that dragon I found to.. A course can be made difficult on some holes without the element of lost property. The only instance where that's wrong is water hazards.and even then those don't line every hole. Just re-think those tall weeds everywhere and pick and choose where they can be placed or cut down a bit

Nothing official but it's likely they'll do some pickup doubles on Sunday afternoon after the awards ceremony.

My 1300 rated response would be..

Hey I'm in Shapokey or some damn place... til Friday. I think I might be close to Hyland Hills... Kinda want to try out BRP or Kaposia. Anybody out here playing? I have zero to do all day. What courses are close?

you are very close to hyland. Kaposia wouldn't be too far. BRP is probably at least an hour from Shakopee.

Ur close to hyland but its boring. Bryant is a lil more technical. Corner of 494 and 62. East on 62. But if u get time hit brp. It is an hour away(494 n to 694e to 65n) but well worth it. Bring bug spray wherever u go..

If you're out in Shakopee, Lions Park is right there at Adams and Hwy 169. But if you want a Gold level challenge venture out to Crown College in St. Bonifacius.

well Chuck, I took your advice and hit up crown college. Nice course. Needs mowed. I've never had to call it looking for a disc that appeared to just lightly skip off the fairway a few feet until now. 51 without the damn lost disc penalty. Not what I'd expect from a "Gold Level" though.

Played Kaposia yesterday. Man do I miss that kind of golf. Kind of felt like a mix of Grandview, Walnut, and Carroll Marty. I'm sure everybody and their mother has played it by now but I do think that's one of my top 10 courses ever.

Might try to get out and hit one more today or tomorrow. Hyland it is looking like. Don't think I'll get a chance at BRP.... dammit.

I've only played Crown once from the back tees. I could see how it might get shaggy on the parts of the course that are only disc golf (7 thru 16) and not on the campus part of it. I was referring simply to gold level distances on par 3s. It's true there aren't really any par 4s. BTW, they are working on a special 18-hole Kaposia Gold layout sort of how Stan does it at Renny and Hornet's Nest where the Gold winds among the existing course using some holes and having some of its own.

I'm in minny all weekend and next week. If any locals wanna meet up for rounds or anybody in IA want to get up here for the weekend you have a free place to stay. I have nothing to do all day sat and sun so gonna get out and explore some new parks. Don't really feel like playing a sanctioned event (valley) so just gonna get some casual rounds in.
