Postby Disc Golf Live » Tue Jan 04, 2011 8:13 am

Happy new year to everyone.

Thanks to the support of the PDGA, full episodes of Disc Golf Live video magazine will now be posted online. While our primary goal is still to provide a free program for broadcast on public access TV stations to spread the good word about disc golf to the uninitiated, online postings will help bring DGL to established players and the online viewer base. We've got free program DVDs for anyone who wants to submit the show for local broadcast, and we can also set folks up with a resource for easy postal-free downloading.

The first part of this episode (39) features the Presidents Cup. Part two features a Guardians of Recreation bit, action from the Rose City Open, and action from the Tali Open.

It's sweet when I go back to Muscatine and DG is on the tube. I think they had it a few years before they even had a course!
If it kills, I got news, it ain't a side effect

Episode 41 is up on Youtube, links below. I think MDR makes an appearance in there somewhere, can't recall the other locals off the top of my head.

Please remember that DGL is primarily a vehicle for bringing DG to community TV stations across the country. If you have a station in your town, please get in touch with them and find out what it takes to bring a show to your local airwaves. Whether you have a big station, like in Charlotte, NC, or a small station in some podunk town, we've got free DGL dvds or downloads for your enjoyment. Help grow our sport, bring DG to TV in your community.

This episode kicks off with action from the first round of the 2010 USDGC, as the history and future of the event are discussed and players tackle the starting hole. We then visit a re-purposed ball golf course in Florida called Pine Oaks as Billy Crump and Nate Doss make the call in a Clash doubles event. We head back to Winthrop Gold for second round action at the USDGC, as players negotiate the watery fifth and sixth holes. To round things out, we head up to Massachusetts as Steve Dodge brings us up to speed on the action at last year’s Vibram Open. We even squeezed in Pete May as the credits roll, dispatching player after player in his annual display of table tennis dominance.

Sorry about the delay in posting this. Sidelined by a detached retina. Ugh...

The latest episode of Disc Golf Live video magazine is up on Youtube, links below. DGL is all about spreading the gospel of disc golf via broadcasts on local and community access TV stations. If you have a station in your town, find out what it takes to submit a program. We’ll set you up with free program DVDs or episode downloads from PEGmedia.org. Large city or small, we welcome every broadcast opportunity. Thanks to Vibram, the PDGA, Innova and Discraft for supporting this episode of DGL.

Episode 43 brings together in one episode a variety of how-to segments created over the 7 years DGL has been in production. For starters, Michael Raley provides a primer on the basic backhand drive, and Phil Arthur offers up tips on ambidextrous throwing. Next, Chris Sprague shares his thoughts on the proper swing plane, and Brian Schweberger rounds out the first half of the show with a discussion of the overhand throw. Mark Ellis is next up, demonstrating proper forehand technique before David Feldberg talks in detail about grips for drives and mid-range shots. Rounding things out is Gregg Hosfeld, reflecting on disc selection for newer players.
