He is sitting out as a protest to all the online players that played on FullTilt that havent been reimbursed (and wont look like they will either.) He also is suing FT for over $150 million.

Found these posts on P5's...seems to make sense-

"phil ivey turning the ftp dollar into crap while nobodys been paid and people r thinking hes helping (us or euro)...his motives are purely selfish and he cant show up at wsop anyways because of fear of taking abuse from the people he deserves to get it from. You guys can pretend like hes doing this for noble reasons but that would be just another sick phil ivey bluff. Im sure phil ivey is gunna win the lawsuit and everybody will have there money by next week jfc"

"Everything Jalman said including his second post...For Ivey to cut ties there has to be enough skin in the game to do so (i.e. the opportunity cost of current $ on FT and lost personal revenue). He is not seperating from the pack for ethical reasons, he is a partner. He knows something is foul and his financial wealth is being impacted, he is not thinking about his personal brand, he is thinking liquid.

Not a good sign for anybody's funds period."

Saw this on the ESPN crawl yesterday and couldn't figure out what was happening. Didn't know if he was suing just to get his own money out or what. Obviously seems a little more complicated than that. Haven't seen Dirksen this week, but last I heard from him he felt confident it would just be a little while before Full Tilt paid up, but that was at least a couple weeks ago.

Third runner-up finish for Phil Hellmuth this WSOP, say what you want about him but he is still pretty sick, could/should have had 14 bracelets by now -

Damn! Can't wait to see those. I'll bet he is beside himself -- whether he is showing it or not. Any report on how many 2nd places he has before this year? (I can't see the article in case it mentions it.)

Im sure he loves the cash but he is more disappointed than anything. I know he has at least 6-7 runner up finishes in the past 3-4 years that I can think of off the top of my head.

We have quite a few central Iowans playing the main event this year. I'd like Dustin Dirksen's chances if he didn't hate Vegas so much.

The "live" wsop espn is doing this year is awful. Has anyone else watched it yet?

I've seen a little the last couple-three nights. I didn't think it was horrible. I mean, it's un-cut poker. Can't be GREAT.
