This explains a lot.

I know this thread is more about the generalized stupidity of republicans/conservatives, and less about the election, but:

My 69-year old Mom was visiting from Nebraska, and she informed me that she is Republican, but she won't be voting Republican in November. She said there's no way a 72-year old should be running the country. Ha!

I may be a stupid conservative, but I never thought a single person ever "ran" the country. That would be more of a pure democracy and less of a republic (...for which it stands....)

One person running the country is a dictatorship. A pure democracy is if *everybody* runs the country.

Whatever. Your man and his cronies tried to get it down to one branch of government running the country, so I can see where Rodney's grandma might be mixed up, her being a republican. Good thing they were too corrupt and inept to pull it off completely. Signing statements anyone?

Besides, even semi-intelligent people understand that "running the country" is a colloquialism and isn't meant to be taken literally. Even my 69 year old (Republican) Mom knows that.

Oh wait, let me guess, I missed the sarcasm somewhere.

Oops, fixed.

We can't blame the media for our choices. All of the information is there. Let's use our heads to figure it out instead of allowing ourselves to be manipulated by the party line disguised as news or entertainers disguised as pundits.
